Hi,
I am new to JavaScript and I have been sifting through the previous
posts about some specific help I need with a redirect problem. No luck
there! Could someone take a look and give me some suggestions. I could
really use some help.
What I am trying to accomplish is the following:
-grab the user bookmarked URL.
-strip some of the URL from the beginning
-pass what's leftover of the URL and append that to a new URL.

I have some images on a domain (http://www.domain.com/image1.jpg for
example).
I want to create a sub-domain so that the images will be
http://images.domain.com/image1.jpg for example.
Once I move the images to the sub-domain any requests to the old locations
will result in a 404.
Is there any way to redirect all failed image requests to the new location?

I have a web site Domain1.com and a secondary domain, Domain2.com that is
forwarded by my registrar to Domain1.com.
Using my primary home page: http://domain1.com/default.aspx is there a way
I can recognize that it is actually forwarded to by Domain2 and redirect to
a subfolder of the actual site: http://domain1.com/domain2/default.aspx?
Using IE, when I type in Domain2.com and the default page appears from
Domain1, the address line...

Hi
I have a web application that uses System.Web.Mail to send off an email once
the user has populated some text boxes.
The aspx pages loads up ok on local host so I uploaded it to my web space
with 1&1 (1and1).
I have created a folder on my web space called tm and put the appropriate
files in there.
I have then pointed www.airbrushesonline.co.uk at the 'tm' folder. The rest

Hello all,
I have posted a similar question in comp.lang.php in the past, but haven't
had any response to it then. I kinda swept the problem under the rug since
then. But I would really like to resolve this issue once and for all now.
The problem might be PHP related but since I only develop applications using
PHP, I'm not a hundred percent sure. Therefor I've taken the liberty to
crosspost to comp.lang.php and alt.www.webmaster. I...

I've spent days trying to come up with a solution. I'd appreciate it if
anyone can help.
My site requires all users to log on. There are three different roles of
users, and each user type will have access to a completely different set of
pages. "Client" pages are in the root folder and "Admin" and "Trainer" pages
each have their own subfolders.
The problem is that when a user goes to the domain, I want to redirect
"Admin" and...

I have a problem again. I have a 2 sites for one of my customers. The site is English and Afrikaans. The English site is parked on the Afrikaans site.
The script should check to see if the page is accessed through the correct domain. If it is not accessed through the correct domain, it should redirect to the correct domain and create a cookie to always return to the correct domain.
Here is an example:
Someone enters the site through...

All, I'm working on a website that requires SSL enabled on a few pages. The pages are coded in ASP, and I currently have a redirect being called by the pages that require SSL that reloads the page as HTTPS instead of just HTTP. So I have the 403.4 error covered by this redirect.
My question is what if the user has SSL disabled in their browser? In Internet Explorer 7, when the page is redirected to HTTPS and they have SSL disabled they get a...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
