Have you tried the SSL Manager inside cPanel?
hi motoma. i looked through it... it seemed a bit difficult to set up... i apparently had to create a cirtificate and stuff like that... it reads: "The SSL Manager will allow you to generate ssl certificates, signing requests, and keys. " but i don't know really what that means... i'd just like to know if the whole point of SSL in cPanel is in fact to make a webform secure, in which case i'd spend some time making it work...

Hi I would like to take his question and reuse it. I am trying to setup a ssl connection. I purchased my certificate from godaddy.com. I have done everything I know to do to make it work. Still seems to be nothing going on with it. I followed their vague tutorial for Cpanel/Web Host Manager not very accurate at all if you ask me. Its on my Shared hosting server. I have setup my keys sent the request and got the license. I go into the cpanel I hit the ssl/tld manager hit the edit upload and delete ssl certificates then upload my certificates in there. With go daddy they give you a bundle also that they say has to be installed first. All I am doing is uploading it first then my certificate. They both show but when I try to visit a secure part of my site it throws

An error occurred during a connection to www.larsenracin gproducts.com.

SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

(Error code: ssl_error_rx_re cord_too_long)

I have tried this several different ways. I have even pasted my ssl in the window and nothing. I have pasted my ssl keys then my RSA then the bundle in window and everything seems to work fine but still get that error when I try to visit a secure part of my site. The site is http://larsenracingpro ducts.com just try to go into the shopping cart. Thanx for any help...

Unless you have a Dedicated SERVER! and root access to the whole server then
SSL Certificates must be installed by root (host provider tech support)
SSL Manager only takes you through importing a key from some Certificate Authority or... Creating your a public key /certificate pair in the case of self-signed certificates. You can't do it yourself because you don't have and won't get the privileges needed to do it on a shared server.

While its awesome that you are taking the time to answer other OPs questions, please know that this question is almost a year old and I am quite sure the other OPs have moved on to other things and hopefully solved the issue at hand.

Just keep the date of threads in mind is all.

Regards,

Jeff

I'm encountering some wierd behavior with a <link> tag over an HTTPS connection, vs. an HTTP connection... In an ASP/HTML page on my website, I've add a <link rel="shortcut icon"...> in order to allow the users to add a shortcut (with icon) on their desktop, as well as seeing the icon in the URL. Our development server allows both HTTP and HTTPS connections, but the icon only appears to be available when requesting the page via HTTP???...

I'm running this on a Linux/CentOs/cPanel server, trying to add caching to my PHP5 code, using ADOdb. I have two Linux servers, one of them is running perfect, the second one, just crashes without any error, and just gives a blank screen. I narrowed down the problem to: $line.serialize($rs2) Am I missing something maybe in the PHP5 configuration?

Hi! Is there a way to change the protocoll type through Javascript without reloading (or making a request from the webserver) via Javascript? for example: http://mydomain.com -https://mydomain.com and backwards (if possible).

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
