The way your question is worded makes me wonder which class it is for?

It is for my database IT class. Our professor told us to google it or post it on a forum. Google provided nothing, and i can't seem to find it anywhere.

Loverly professor you've got... Has he provided you with a textbook?

There are two 'cascade' functions that I can think of off the top of my head. The most likely is the cascade update and delete feature of the 'Enforce Referential Integrity' functions. Try your google search with that instead.

The other has to do with cascading list/combo boxes, which if you look in the Articles section of this site, you will find a tutorial that deals with this. Here's the link: Cascading Combo/List boxes

Is there any two things that must be done and/or checked before using the cascade feature. I don't really understand his question in the first place. Thank you for your help.

quikksilver8,

This forum is dedicated to IT/Developer professionals. We are staffed by volunteers who choose to freely help troubleshoot problems that people are experiencing.

We are not here as an online homework/tutoring source.

I have provided you already with the two key references that you need in order to do further research into your professor's question. If you still do not understand, refer your question to him, after all, you are paying him to help you learn!

Scott

That's all right...

As I already said, try searching again using the key words: Enforce Referential Integrity

Hi Scott sorry to bother you again but this is his exact question. " While implementing referential integrity and trying to decide if you should use either of the cascade settings, what are some (at least two) of the most important aspects to cinsider? " I'm am pretty good at using access but still dont understand this. Is there anything to reallly consider, because I don't think there is. This makes no sense. Again thank you for your time.

Quikksilver,
As Scott mentioned, we are not here to answer homework questions. Scott already pointed you in the right direction. I just googled "Referential Integrity Cascade Settings" and got a large list of results that would be useful for you to look at. The microsoft website is a good source. I'm sure your textbook would have useful information as well.
