I have little or no knowledge as to how a runtime Access database
application might be distributed from a website. I am sure that I'm
about to find out. I do have one question for you wizards though...
My experience has shown that when I have installed applications
from the web, my browser generally asks what I want to do with
the file......

I have about 12-13 files. All can go into a single directory.
And I need a desktop icon created to launch the app. Is
making the app available for web-based installation quite
difficult. What tools are used to do that?

Hi,
in our terminal server environment only a small group of people shall
be allowed to create databases using MS Access 2002.
All the other users should be able to read and use the
database/application created by the Office Developer Package wizard.
I've tested this on one Access-database, and the package installs and
works perfectly, when...

Hello,
First off, let me say that I DO own XP Developers edition, so I do have a
license to distribute the runtime. What I'm looking for is the bare bones
files I need to deploy a runtime version of Access. When I use the Package
and Deployment wizard, the resulting set up file is 160 Mb in size. I'd
like to just package the program...

I am concerned.
I have recently moved to A97 from Access 2.0 where I rolled out
runtime apps with the ADT. Now, the Office Pro Developer's
Edition with Access 97 is what I'm using. I find some unfriendly
behavior. I want (need) to find out what the pro's (like you guys)
are doing to circumvent some of the difficulties encountered when...

My A97 runtime installations are sometimes paused
during the install process prompting user with messages
saying the files are in use. Generally, I tell them to click
IGNORE. Although I haven't had any noticeable related
impact in past installations, I cannot help but wonder
what is going on and if my installations are jeopardized
because of...

I have a desperate short term need for a way to install Access 2003
runtime on client computers. I have the proper license to do so but I
cannot seem to find the files to do it like we did with the old Access
2000 Runtime. Also, I cannot use the MS Package & Deployment wizard
because it won't allow us to install our app into the specific...

I'm trying to use a Web Service to be a Remoting client of an existing
..NET 2.0 server. But I get the following error when I try to use
System.Runtime.Remoting.Channels.Http in my WebService. The same code
works fine in a standalone app. I have inspected
System.Runtime.Remoting.dll with ildasm, and I can see the
....Channels.Http...

Well kids,
Todays lesson in computing is an explanation of the Microsoft .NET
"Framework".............
DEFINITION
***************
The MS "Framework" is a term used to describe the Visual Basic .NET (is
it still called that today?) "Runtime Files" needed for a .NET (there I
go again) program to execute. Added on-top of the "Runtime...

After about 12 years with Access I finally created a "Runtime" version of a simple app. (No, before you ask – I don't mean I spent 12 years developing a simple app – just that all my previous clients have Access already!!)
Tried running it on a Win98 machine and although it opened OK the only textbox on the opening form displayed "#name?" and...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
