Are you talking about installing a few mde files, or the actual runtime?
The runtime in a2000 can be up to 150 megs in size.
For a2003..it is about 34 megs + your size application (compressed).
So, I suppose you could deliver something via the web..but for anything but
high speed, I don't this very workable.
The runtime has provisions for putting a shortcut on the desktop (you
mention 13...do you really want 13 icons put on the desktop?).
I mean, once the runtime is installed and setup, then you just need to give
your uses the mde files. To update via the web, I generally just use WinZip
(
www.winzip.com) to zip the files and the users can download and un-zip the
files.
The a2003 does use the standard MSI installer, and some utilities on the web
can re-package a MSI to"install" from the web, but given the very large size
of the runtime..I would likely split this up into two parts. Only the
"first" application needs the actaully large runtime package included..the
rest of the files will then simply run when copied to the pc (thus, winzip
is useful here).
