User Roster for a secured backend

I'm trying to determine who is linked to the backend. I'm using the
Microsoft code on the Jet User Roster that uses ado to develop a list.

The front end and backend are secured. This code is to go in the front end.
I don't understand why Access is telling me that I need to provide a User ID,
PWD and Workgroup file to Open the backend with ado. I would have thought
that the fact that a user is already logged into the front end and linked to
the back end would be enough.

Workgroup file passwords aren't available for the CurrentUser, are they? And
even if they were, I don't know that I want to have user passwords stored in
some variable for use by the code.

Is there a way around this?

The link from the frontend to the backend is using DAO the link you are
trying to opn is using ADO.

So no I wouldn't expect it to just pick up the connection details.
