Not able to add record

Hello,

My switchboard provides buttons to open several forms in Edit Mode. Some
forms allow adding a record while others do not. The forms that do not allow
additions are forms that contain a subform, plus they are populated through
a query. Otherwise the properties to allow edits, additions is set to yes.

Why would I not be able to add a record to these forms? Is it because
they're populated with a query?

Cindi,

Your problem may be due to not using key fields to link tables inside
your queries. If you want to update or append records in a form bound to
a query, then a key field in one table should be linked to a key
field in the other table...otherwise you can't update these records.
