I have a database mdb. that I've made a mde. file out of. When I try
to run the file I get a can't make changes requested, would create
duplicate values error.
Now for the facts: The open event on the form that produces the error
supplies a new number to a primary key field by looking at the highest
exsisting number in that field and incrementing by 1, similar to the
way an autonumber would work. The code finds the record with the
highest...

This is a change of behaviour between Access 2000 SP3 and Access 2002
SP3.
I have Progress table that is linked via ODBC into Access using OpenLink
Lite for Progress 9.0b. For over a year, using Access 2000 under Win98,
I have been running a Make Table or Append query against this ODBC
table and producing an extracted Access table. Any fields that are NULL
on the source ODBC table show as NULL on the output table. The query
also has an...

Our MS SQL (SQL Server 2000) DBA has database privileges locked down
pretty tightly. We end users/developers do not have administrator
privileges for most databases. That arrangement has worked out OK for
the most part. However, it's a bit aggravating that we can't even
create our own database diagrams. When we attempt to do so (in
Enterprise Manager), we get a dialog that says "You do not have
sufficient privilege to create a new...

Can anyone please provide some assistance with a trigger that I need to
develop. Here is the situation:
Our program updates depend on database updates. If a client receives
the program update and the database hasn't been updated then it's a
huge mess. No problem right? Just document the changes to the
database that you made and then send out a SQL script that will update
the database with the program update right?
Well, I don't...

Hi all,
I have a need to make a guest registry, and try as I might, I just
can't seem to get the right programming in the expression builder.
Here is what I need to do.
I have one field labeled "Accommodations" which has a drop down
listing of 7 codes. I need to then a) assign a dollar value to each
code, then b) place that dollar amount in the "Accommodations Fee"
field. Also one of the codes has 3 subtypes each with a different

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
