No access to .dbf files in access 97 after installing access 2003

Hello,

I need to maintain an access97 database that is linked to dbf's, but
after having installed access 2003, when I try to link a .dbf file to
an access97 database, I only have access and odbc when the dialog box
to choose the external table comes up.

I tried going to control panel and change my office 97 setup.

When I go to the data access option, dbf is grayed out with a
checkmark in it and it states that dbf access is already installed.

Yet, I don't have access to that option when trying to link my dbf
table to the access97 database.

Any way to get that option back on?

Thanks!

After reading and experiencing the phenomenon of installing MS Office 2000 on a system that already has MS Office 97, or for that matter just Access 97 Runtime, I saw the ugliness that ensues. If one elects the standard installation, then Office 2000 deletes a large percentage of the older files. Of course, if one happens to choose Custom...

I've just received a new computer with Win XP Version 5.1.2600. When I use the Office 97 installation cd, pick my choices, I end up, at the end of the installation, an...

I have an Access 97 app and the ADT and am considering selling it to the public. Is this viable? What issues might I have? I also have Access 2000 and could use that if it would be better. I don't have the "ADT" for 2000. Is it called ODE or ODT? Can you still buy that? Would there be any advantage in moving up to and distributing...

I have a desperate short term need for a way to install Access 2003 runtime on client computers. I have the proper license to do so but I cannot seem to find the files to do it like we did with the old Access 2000 Runtime. A client of mine likes some of the new bells and whistles in Access 2007, and is thinking about converting our A03 format MDB to an A07 format file. However, while some of the users have A07, many do not, and it's not clear when they would get it. His thought was to use the upcoming Access 2007 runtime to allow the users who are still running...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
