Try opening the DB fresh, then go to the VBA editor directly (Alt-F11). On the Debug Menu, click Compile. Fix any errors before trying to run your DB.

If the DB still crashes, you may have to create a new DB, and copy all objects into your new DB and compile from there.

Hello, Currently I am running an Access database on a windows WTS server, running Microsoft Windows 2000 server 5.00.2195 Service Pack 3. This database should be accessible for everybody in our network, so for the time being, I have changed the permission for the .mdb file to Everone -> Full control (I know this is not professional, but I'll sort out the security issues later). When this database is opened, and closed again, it is...

We have an Access 97 database app that we'd like to enable (not convert) for Access 2003. We still have users running 97 and are not prepared to upgrade everyone who uses this database to the 2003 version yet. We're getting an error message when we try to do this which reads as follows: "There were compilation errors during the conversion or enabling of this database. The database has not been saved in a compiled state. The performance...

Dear people, after many efforts I'm putting my hope on you. Last week I changed a lot of forms and reports in an Access 2000 database. It all worked fine and I closed the database without any problems. But now I can't open it! When I open the file Access starts and I get an empty Access screen instead of the database window. The filename isn't shown in the title bar. I have tried repairing, but Access is finished in 0.5 seconds (database...

I've found an odd situation in where the Load event of the active form fires (after the Unload event) when Access is closed. I am able to reproduce this situation in Access 2002 SP3 and Access 2003 on computers running WinXP. This does not appear to happen in Access 2000 on a computer with Win2000. This only seems to happen if there is a hidden form also loaded and, so far, I'm only able to reproduce this if the forms are loaded through...

I'm running Access XP Pro (2002) french on WinXP Form: frm_commande (data coming from Qry_Commande) Subform: sfrm_commande_detail The following VBA code is running on Form_Current event of the subform. All the fields used in the code are in the footer of the...

Hi everyone. I am trying to open a database which works fine using Access 2003, but when trying to open it on another PC that has Access 2002 I get the following error "This database is unrecognised file format, it may have been created with a later version of Access, upgrade to a later version..." Could anyone please help to resolve this issue.

I have a database that had been stable until 3 weeks ago. The Access 2003 database occasionally (a couple of times a week) gets corrupted when the last user exits the application. At least, that's what I'm assuming since they get no error while working. If I make a copy of the database prior to the last user logging out, that copied DB remains undamaged. If I attempt to log back the original DB in once everyone is out, I get the dreaded...

How can I stop a form from updating the database when a user closes the form? I have a form which is used for referencing, additions, and modifications but every time the form is closed with no modifications the entry which is being displayed is then stored in the database causing duplicates. My hope is to only allow additions and or modifications if they select the proper command button. If they just close the form I would like nothing stored...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
