How do i fix this error " enter parameter value"?

1 New Member
I have two quarries one that gives me a list of book sales(customer, quantity, book number, date) and the other gives me a list of Book Numbers and their corresponding prices. I need to create a field in the first quarry that i mentioned that will gives me cost of each customers total order.

I started by using the design view and clicking on build. I input this equation:

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. quaryBookCost: [Quantity]* [Books Query]![BookPrice]
but it then asks me to "enter parameter value"

I can't seem to figure out where I went wrong any help you could give me would be great.

It's hard to tell from the little information posted. Typically, this message comes when there is something in brackets ([]) which it is unable to resolve.

As the named value is quaryBookCost, I would guess towards a simple mis-spelling of something, but it may be that the query [Books Query] doesn't even exist within your query. If it does, maybe it doesn't contain a field called [BookPrice].

I can't tell you what is mis-spelled without access to how all the items are actually spelled, but you should check them all out carefully.

Wellcome to bytes!
As Neopa said, it may be due to the [Quantity] try to replace [Quantity] with [Sales Query].[Quantity].
If it still gives you that parameters error, then try your design from the Scratch

I have read several variations of this topic posted on this news group. However I was not able to find the answer for my problem. I am trying to build code (see below) to update a large single record using data from a temporary (editing) table with identical field structure. I iterate through the fields (some 50 of them) with a For Each - Next loop to update each field with the SQL statement. The updating works fine with numeric data type...

The program was stopped without running to completion many times as I couldn't figure out the error. NOW, I am getting an ENTER PARAMETER VALUE statement for the ON OPEN event of this particular form. Could this form now be corrupted? the error message isn't making sense as I have checked where it could be...

I have a problem I just can't figure out. I have a form with a subform, and the recordsource of the subform has criteria based on some unbound fields in the parent form so that data in the parent form affects data in the subform. I've had this type of setup often, but I've run across a couple forms where this has caused an "enter parameter value" pop up for each reference to the parent control in the query when the main form is closed. ...

I've got an MS Access query which runs fine when double clicked and returns all of the rows in a test database I'm building. I've set up a multi group report based on the query. I immediately began getting the "Enter Parameter Value" dialog and it was asking for the query by its name "sel_report_data" whenever I tried to run or preview the report. To troubleshoot the problem, I selected the query in the database window, hit the "New...

Hi all, I use Access 2007 and have come across this error a number of times. I have two tables (customer information) which should contain - ideally - the same data. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
