I am being prompted to "Enter Parameter Value" when clicking on Cmd Button

1 New Member
I used the CmdButton Wizard and arrived at the following:

where condition: "[Vend_COMPANY]=" & "'" & [Vendor] & "'"

I am trying to Open a separate pop up form [VendorPop] based on the currently selected Company Name in my Sub-Form.

When I click on the Cmd Button, I am prompted to "Enter Parameter Value".

My Sub-Form is based on a Query that includes Data from Two Tables.

I have a Main Vendor Information form to Capture all of the Vendor Details; however, I am trying to open a quick Popup Form to do quick edits like adding an Email or Phone #.

I have NO HAIR LEFT. Please help.

Hi Chris. There is no problem that I can see with your link statement's construction. If you are being asked for a parameter value it's because Access cannot find one or other of the fields involved.

Check carefully the names of the fields/controls involved - is it possible that field [Vend_Company] in the recordsource of your pop-up form is actually [Vend Company], or [Vendor Company], for instance? Is the company name control on your subform actually called [Vendor]?

Hope you manage to track down the problem without losing your hair altogether!

I have read several variations of this topic posted on this news group. However I was not able to find the answer for my problem. I am trying to build code (see below) to update a large single record using data from a temporary (editing) table with identical field structure. I iterate through the fields (some 50 of them) with a For Each - Next loop to update each field with the SQL statement. The updating works fine with numeric data type...

Hello. I'm trying to create an Image so I use something like this: Image newImage = Image.FromFile(filename); Now when it's a bmp file and certain .gif files it gives me an exception that says: "Invalid parameter used". The gif an bmp files are valid image files, I can open them in any graphics software and windows can do the preview.

The program was stopped without running to completion many times as I couldn't figure out the error. NOW, I am getting an ENTER PARAMETER VALUE statement for the ON OPEN event of this particular form. Could this form now be corrupted? the error message isn't making sense as I have checked where it could be...

I have a problem I just can't figure out. I have a form with a subform, and the recordsource of the subform has criteria based on some unbound fields in the parent form so that data in the parent form affects data in the subform. I've had this type of setup often, but I've run across a couple forms where this has caused an "enter parameter value" pop up for each reference to the parent control in the query when the main form is closed. ...

I've got an MS Access query which runs fine when double clicked and returns all of the rows in a test database I'm building. I've set up a multi group report based on the query. I immediately began getting the "Enter Parameter Value" dialog and it was asking for the query by its name "sel_report_data" whenever I tried to run or preview the report. To troubleshoot the problem, I selected the query in the database window, hit the "New...

Hi all, I use Access 2007 and have come across this error a number of times. I have two tables (customer information) which should contain - ideally - the same data. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
