I've got an MS Access query which runs fine when double clicked and returns all of the rows in a test database I'm building.
I've set up a multi group report based on the query. I immediately began getting the "Enter Parameter Value" dialog and it was asking for the query by its name "sel_report_dat a" whenever I tried to run or preview the report.
To troubleshoot the problem, I selected the query in the database window, hit the "New Object" dropdown on the toolbar and selected "Report." I then selected "Design View" and the report design window opened. To keep it simple, I selected 5 fields from the query using the "Field List" tool and placed all of the fields in a single row in the "Details" section of the report. Couldn't be simpler, right? Even with this simplistic single level report I'm still getting the damned "Enter Parameter Value" dialog asking for the query by name, "sel_report_dat a".
I've been developing stand alone stuff in MS Access for the last 10 years and I've never run into this before. I'm running Access 2003 under Windows XP and I've always been able to select a query and design a quick report just by placing the fields from the field list tool into the details section of the report.
Maybe I'm having a senior moment, but this one has me stumped...

If you don't have any parameters in the criteria row of your query, then I would suspect one of the following:
1. you have an ambiguous name in one of your fields...have you used the same field name for an object that is referenced in 2 different tables, and one or both of them appear in an alias column or calculated column of your query..if you do you should preface each of them with the table name like >>>> tablename.field name<<<<
2. do you have any columns in your query with the show box unchecked so that column does not appear in your field list, but it needs to be on the field list because it is used in the calculation for a field that you have on your report.??

I have a problem I just can't figure out. I have a form with a
subform, and the recordsource of the subform has criteria based on
some unbound fields in the parent form so that data in the parent form
affects data in the subform. I've had this type of setup often, but
I've run across a couple forms where this has caused an "enter

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
