No critieria in query search when drop down box is empty

27 New Member
I have a query that is connected to a form. There are 2 dropdown boxes in the form that are connected to two columns on the query. I would like the query to search for all records if those 2 dropdown boxes are left empty, but currently if either one is left empty, no records are returned. Anyway to get the blank dropdown boxes to convey "search with no criteria"?

Near the top of this page you will see :
bytes > microsoft access / vba > microsoft access / vba questions
This is generally referred to as the Bread-Crumbs, and refers to the Hantsel & Gretel fairy-tale. This enables you to link back to parent forums of the one you're in. The articles forums (or Insights as they are generally called) can be found if you go up one level to bytes > microsoft access / vba. In there you will find a large number of Article/Insight threads.

Specific article referred to may be included in :

Have fun!

I hope this is the right group. I am very new to ASP so this is probably a stupid question. I have some vbscript that query's AD and populates a recordset. I know the recorset contains the information I want by doing a Response.write. I am having problems dynamically creating a drop down list from the data in the recordset. The drop down is created but it is empty. Any help would be greatly appreciated. A sample of the code: <% 'On...

I have a drop-down control that is being populated by an entire table (not a query). There are NULL values in the table which appear as blank spaces in the drop down. How can I format the drop down to put some static text in place of the empty space. (For example 'Available', or 'Not Defined')

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
