We have despatch process which kicks out picking information into text
files at hourly intervals.
The text files are named sequentially by process; 'ABC.txt',
'ABC01.txt', 'ABC02.txt' for one process, or 'XYZ.txt', 'XYZ01.txt' for
another process.
The folder contents would look like this;
ABC.txt
ABC01.txt

I want to set up the import of data from an excel file into SQL Server
from my ASP.net (C#) application. The user will select the file that
needs importing.
I want to use DTS to do this. I was thinking of calling the DTS and
passing it the name of the file to import.
Is this the best way to do it? Any code available anywhere?

Hi
Before I start coding I need to be sure that nobody else has not done it yet
and that I can use it.
I need an import utility which import data from Excel to a database or some
object in .NET. The data in Excel is not in structured columns but can exist
everywhere in the workbook. For example if I am supposed to import a person
and all his/her cars which exist in a workbook I want to be able to create an
import protocol and specify...

Hi,
I have a read only access file with a linked table that connects to a
sybase database. So I can still add data to the table even though its
read only since the table is really in sybase. However, I want to
import data from an excel file (either via a macro in excel or access)
but I always get an "Error 3051" because the access file is read
only. Does anyone know a good workaround to this? I've been using the
TransferSpreadsheet...

I tried importing Excel data using the guidelines in this thread:
http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread124113.html
When I tried the code, the program worked until the ExcelCommand.ExecuteNonQuery(), when the program freezes. Any idea on what's not working? Thanks in advance.

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
