Anyone know an easy way to toggle between Form and Design view with a hotkey?
I know you can switch from Design view to Form view with hotkey F5. But is there a hotkey to switch back (from Form view to Design)? Shift-F5 is not it.
I've searched Google and I can't believe I couldn't find an answer. Please help.

It works for me in 2007. I'm wondering if it's something specific to your form.

That's really quite unfortunate Adam. It's a shame that the manufacturer (Microsoft) doesn't seem to appreciate the responsibility it should feel towards existing customers of its products. I suspect this type of "follow our lead or else" attitude will not help their market share in the long run. Unfortunately for those of us who are customers, it leaves us poorly supported.

What responsibility do you mean? Obviously, this is very vague and will differ from person to person, but I consider it a very nice feature to support old key sequences at all.
ChipR,
You're right! I created a new form and didn't change any properties, and it worked!
I'll have to fool around with the various properties to figure it out.
Thanks for the help!

The responsibility to ensure that users upgrading from one version of their software to a later one can do it with a minimum of hassle and relearning. It is after all, supposed to be a new version rather than a different application. @ChipR
I can only suggest that people who pay good money to upgrade software they've already paid for once (or a number of times in many cases) would hardly be well served if the software changed its interface every version.
Do you know of any other software vendor that feels it can be so cavalier as Microsoft seems to with their latest releases (to be fair I'm mainly talking about Office 2007 & Vista which aren't so new now)?
@ChipR
I was just perusing this page, and I know it was asked a long time ago, but has anyone tried [Ctrl]-, (ctrl key and comma together). It worked for me.
Thank you karaki!!!!!!! that works for me in windows 7 office 2010. Also to get back to form view just do ctrl+.
@karaki
Thanks!!! F5 and Ctrl comma works for me in Access 2018.

Hi Liz.
Just an FYI:
The latest perpetual licence version of Access released to date is 2016, but 2019 is in the offing. Otherwise it's 365.

Hi folks!
I have a BaseForm class that inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form. It has a
property, whose value I need supplied by the class that inherits it. The
BaseForm usees the value supplied into this property in its Load event.
So, I gave the BaseForm and the property 'abstract' modifier, and put the
implementation of the property in the inherited class; say MyForm. However,
when I did this, I no longer can open MyForm in the design...

Stop me if you've heard this, but I am running Access 2002 and all of
a sudden, if I design a particular form (it's been working fine for
ages), Access crashes rather than open it in design view.
Interestingly, it doesn't crash if I run the app and open it in form
view! Just if I attempt to design it.
If I compact/repair, it allows me to design the form once. On any
subsequent attempts to view in design mode, though, it crashes before...

Hello,
Often when I open one form, and (without closing it) open the form in its
design view, then all the caption value of the controls in this form
remained there in form's design view that is what I don't want. I wish the
caption value to be "". What can I do?
what is the form event from form view to design view?
Thanks in advance,

I have a database that I inherited that has query in it that has
hidden fields when it is in design view. Datasheet view shows the
fields and when I switch back to design view it appears as though
those columns are compressed. If I try clicking between the columns
"<-|->" it does not do anything. I don't have 'Format' in the menu
bar to unhide any of the fields for design view.
Does anyone know how to unhide these columns?

I've a repeater and here is a piece of HTML when I use, I can't switch back
to Design view:
<a href=default.aspx?id=<%#container.dataitem("id")%>Some Link</a>
I get this error message:
Could not open in design view. Place quotes around a '<% %>' used as an
attribute value or within a <SELECT> element.
well, actually I used <% %> as an attribute value, why I shouldn't?
would you suggest an alternative?

I have a form with a Form1_Load() Subprocedure and no other code. For some
reason, the design view does not come up. If I add a new form, the design

view for this form use to come up but I'm not sure when it stopped
appearing.
I do notice the form1.vb and class1.vb files in the Solution Explorer
(Visual Studio.NET) have little arrows in the bottom left corner...

It seems MS finally has a hotfix for KB 912019: "You may receive an
error message when you rebuild a solution and try to view a Windows
Form in Design view in Visual Studio 2005". The problem is that you
have to call support which is not for free. Since this is a very
serious bug I don't think we should have to pay for this after shelling
out good money for VS. Can that fix be optained somewhere online?

Hi this is my first post on the forums. I haven't really developed before with Access 2003 so trouble shooting with this application is not my forte. The issue at hand is, created a star schema with all the IDs in one table for the eight tables I created in design view, the datatype for all the IDs is number in this Table.
ID
EventID
ObsID
RecID
ActItemID
LocID
AssgnID
ImpctID
ProjID

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
