Hi,
How can I use a MS-Access DB in a computer without Access installed? I
read something about a "runtime" utility, but I don't know how to use
it.
Any help?
Thanks

Most of my projects are developed in Access 2003. I have not even installed
Office 2007 yet!
I need to buy VSTO to get the run-time licence for Access 2003. No doubt I
will soon need a run-time licence for Access 2007. Is there a version of
VSTO that has the Access run-time licence for both version of Access? Or
will I need to buy VSTO 2003 now and then VSTO 2007 at a later date?
Thanks,

Why the heck was this dropped? All my dbs use ULS even the complex ones. It
aint perfect, it's too fiddly, but it works.
How will I be able to say "These users can run these reports and these users
can't." in Access 2007? Will I have to create my own tables
(tblSecurityGroups, tblSecurityUsers) and code the whole thing?
Thanks,
Paul

According to Microsoft's web site, the Access 2007 runtime will only
run under Windows Vista or Windows XP SP2. Has anyone had any
experience running the run time under Windows 2000? Thanks.

I'm currently looking at the access developer extensions for creating an MSI
installer package for a 2007 runtime app. Couple of observations and
questions.
1) Doesn't look like we have the ability to set a packaged file to always
overwrite, or never overwrite, unless I'm missing something. This could be a
sticking point, as I would always want the program to overwrite on
re-installing, but NEVER the back end database. I have a few more...

I (finally) upgraded to A2007 from A 97 and downloaded the runtime &
developer
extensions.
My first impression is tentatively positive.
There are several new features (that Albert Kallal lists in another
post in this group) that might make it worth the upgrade.
My A97 app converted without any major problems.
However I can see I have a bit of a learning curve ahead.
I always deployed my A97 apps with the runtime included.
All my custom...

I'm having trouble entering Additional Registry Keys into my Package
Solution that will deploy the Access 2007 runtime. (Client machine is
running XP with Office 2007 Standard.)
The Package Solution Wizard, on about page 3, has a section for
entering Additional Registry Keys. I want to include a locations key
that will identify my install directory as a Trusted Location, thereby
turning off the Security Alert when users open the ACCDR.

Hello!
I'd like to distribute an application developed in MS Access 2003.
I've looked at the MS web site and it says although the ability to
distribute is included with MS Office Retail, you still need to
purchase a licence, yet it provides no links.. It also says that you
need developer extensions to package it, but still no link! .Overall,
I'm a bit confused and am wondering if anyone can set me on the right
track.

Hi !! I'm about to develop a new project for a client.
Should I go about it in Access 2003 or 2007 ? Purchasing it either
for me or for my client is not a major consideration here ... what I'd
like to know is the stability, speed & ease of use of both the
products.
I believe Access 2007 has a new file format too and that it may be
slower.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
