Around December 2008 our MS Access 2003 application started inserting extra line feeds everytime the RTF edit window was opened and saved. It was working fine up to that time. We are using the MS richtx32.ocx rich text box control. We open a form with a rich text control and edit the text. When the text is saved back to the database it adds extra line feeds after each line feed. If the text is opened for editing again it adds more line feeds.

I suggest either avoiding that add-in if it doesn't suit your requirements, or put in some code that replaces these known invalid strings with ones you prefer.
I very much doubt you can fix this behaviour in the add-in itself.
Anytime I see Access 2003 and something going awry in the way things are displayed, I immediately think of the SP3 service pack! SP3 introduced a number of bugs, many of them dealing with the GUI. Because relatively few developers find the need to use RTF, there could easily be a bug involving it that has gone unreported to date. IF the offending machine(s) do, indeed, have SP3 installed, you might want to try installing the hotfix for ir.
Allen Browne reviews the more common bugs associated with SP3 and gives a link to the hotfix at this site: http://allenbrowne.com/bug-Access2003SP3.html

When users fill out my text area field, there is a chance that there
will be no line feeds or cariage returns or spaces and just one really
long word. THIS CAUSES A MAJOR PROBLEM! What I am trying to do is
force a vbCrLf if a string is long than 80 characters in a row. So if
a string is a total of 500 characters with no line feeds, spaces, or
returns, I want to force a vbCrLf every 80 characters so that is
doesn't overflow my preview text...

I have a C# app that I am writing which is going to insert text into a
table, which is then picked up by another program and emailed. On the text
version of the email (when the user doesn't have html email), I need to put
tabs in between columns of data and then line feeds after each row. How can
I do this? Right now I'm doing "\t" for tab and "\r\n" for line feed, but
when I generate the text, those characters actually come out in the...

More problems with this... When I run this code, the main form returns

Does anyone know what would cause this? I just want to be able to use

Hello.
I just converted some data to to sql2000 into a TEXT type field. I
needed to remove all tabs from the data and now want to remove extra
lines too.
As we know, SQL2000's replace function does not work on TEXT types. So
I've written a simple asp.net program (with very high timeouts) that
allows me to replace strings in these very large Text fields. I loop
through the table and am able to replace any strings I want except I
can't...

Hello,
I read data from a DB field where a line feed ("\n") is in.
I put this data as text to a label web control.
In the HTML page the line feeds are shown as real line feeds in the HTML
source.
But in the label itself on the page in the browser the line feeds are
ignored.
How can I change the line feeds to HTML syntax (<br/>)?

I am having a problem with the download of web pages via the

plug-in I am designing to speed up the work on my latest project.
When I edit the web pages in notepad I see a square wherever I normally

How can I make the web pages come down readable so I can easily make my

I am using PostBuild events in a C# project to run some tasks, but only
when in release configuration mode. The build events run perfectly as
expected when run. The problem comes when I save the project, close
VS, and reopen VS and the project.
When I build again, i get a post-build event error. So I open the
event to look at it. Guess what, it is not the post-build event i
saved. Instead all the carriage returns are replaced with...

I added "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\nContent-Type:text/html;
charset=iso-8859-1\r\n" as one of the parameters in the mail( )
function to replace the "Nobody" with a real From: email. That worked.
But if I attempt to add any other terms, such as the sender's name and
location, the MIME parameter above seems to ignore the "\n" line feeds
and put the these other terms ahead of the mail message.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
