Hi,
When validating an XML instance, sometimes the schema is not enough to
expression the validation rules. Additional validation rules may be
expressed in an application-specific way. For example, using XPath or
Java method. So is there a concept and/or standard for post-schema
validation or application validation? Is there any hook in XML
standards that allow me to hook up with my customized validation?

It has appeared that ancient sources give a method for Numeric Date
Validation that involves numerous tests to determine month length;
versions are often posted by incomers here. That sort of code seems
unnecessarily long.
For some while, the following approach has been given here :-

I've been updating by date stuff at my web site using much of the
information obtained here. Would you please check it for any errors.
The two pages are "Yearly Calendar" and "Date Calculator".
There is no year validation on the "Yearly Calendar" but it is only
correct for years 1 and up. There is full validation in the "Date
Calculator" but I limited the dates to years 1-9999.
I did not allow years before the year 1 since I am still...

Before I reinvent the wheel I thought I'd ask: anybody got a code snippet
that will convert the common ISO8601 date formats to a JS date?
By "common" I mean at the least ones described in this W3C note:
http://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-datetime
For my requirements the code would be need to be open sourceable under the
BSD license.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
