3 New Member
I have Microsoft Access 2003 and i have a report of Crystal Report 10, i want to configure the Crystal report viewer in Microsoft Access to run this report, but i don't know how to do it.
The report get data of the same Data base, we require do this because we don't have an intranet and the user doesn't have crystal report licences.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, and Welcome to Bytes!

Unfortunately, like most contributors to this forum I am an Access specialist with no Crystal Reports experience at all. You may find a contributor who does know Crystal and its report viewer (so I'm not ruling it out) but I'm sorry to say most questions that relate to Crystal remain unanswered simply through lack of Crystal experience on our part.

If you had asked a question about Access 2003 itself I am sure there would have been a rush to respond...

Sorry

Thanks for your feedback, the issue is that crystalreportvi ewer is an activexcontrol in Microsoft Access (Classe OLE Crystal ActiveX Report Viewer Control 10.0), that is the reason that i posted it this question, i already tried in Bussiness Object, but they said that this control don't have information because is in Microsoft Access.

I think the problem is something in code, but i'm not an expert in this. even the last tried i was using complements in Microsoft Access (Tools - Complements - complements administrator) and it was Crystal report wizard 10.

Thanks for your understanding and your time

Stewart wasn't saying it is incorrect to post in here. This is the most appropriate forum for this.

Unfortunately, it is still true to say that the level of expertise within each ActiveX component commonly linked into Access is still relative to how much it is used.

Crystal Reports is not a rarely used ActiveX component, but compared to the core components it is very rare. For this reason the likelihood of garnering an answer is severely reduced when compared with a more fundamental Access component.

We have no control over what our experts know I'm afraid.

Absolutely no offense. You have done nothing wrong. We weren't saying there was a problem - simply that you may not be lucky enough to find an answer for your question.

Good luck anyway :)

Quick fix could be to just place the Access Database on on terminal server with MS Access and Crystal reports and use RDC to connect to the database. Not sure on the licensing issues (you would need to check into that) with this route but it should work.

The best way to describe the problem is this: I have a Windows-based app, designed in Visual Basic .NET. In the application, I have a form that contains a Crystal ReportViewer control, and that control hosts a Crystal ReportDocument. The problem is this: When I lauch the report in the ReportViewer, another application (completely unrelated to this one) starts on the same PC. This other unrelated application also uses embedded Crystal...

I can't believe that there aren't lots of developers who: 1. create a crystal report that connects to sql server 2. calls the report using the crystalreportviewer control to view it and then, if appropriate, print it 3. tries to deploy that report to the client's database, but now it calls for a different database name Yet I can't get an answer to the question: I have developed numerous reports in an app (Windows Database App) that...

I am currently using ASP.Net 2003 and will be upgrading to 2005 sometime in the near future. I have been having issues with using Crystal Reports that were included with .Net to handle my reporting needs. I was wondering if anybody has an opinion on how the new reportViewer control works in comparison to Crystal. One of the main problems I have been having with Crystal Reports is that they seem to load very slow no matter how small the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
