Sorry to re-post this question but still having problems with relationships
I am running duplicate databases on 2 machines, Ak2 SP3 and windows XP SP2.
I hace 2 databases both with FE & BEs. I can freely copy them between the 2
machines, both FE & BE
On my home machine the relationships are normal, but on the office machine
if I look at the relationships in the FE database, all the tables are there,
but non of the linking lines. Equally with queries in DesignView, the
joining lines can be seen, but as thin lines, not the normal thick ended
line with "1" at one end and "?" at the other. It appears that the enforcing
referential integrety is working.
I have updated drivers, re-installed office, and can find nothing wrong. Is
it likely to be something in the Registry.
Thanks for any further advice

I don't think I would worry too much about seeing relationships in the
FE. They only count in the BE. If you can't see the relationships in
the BE - then you have something to worry about. I also would not try
to establish relationships between tables in the FE and on the BE. It
can be done, but not a good practice. If you need to have referential
integrity locally - I would import/copy data from the BE/Linked tables
to local tables and do your referential integrity locally.

Thanks for coming back, Rich
Both FE & BE are on the same computer, so your bit about local tables seems
redudant. Just curious and more than a bit concerned about being able to see
the relationships on one computer and not the other
Cheers

Hi. I really hope someone can help me. Going slowly insane with this
problem.
I have a two Access 2000 databases. One is the backend containing
tables and some admin queries. The other is the front end with forms /
queries and links to the tables in the back end.
From the Relationships window I selected File / Print Relationships.
The resulting report shows relationships that are not displayed in the
relationships window. Some of...

Just had a minor mishap which has meant starting a new database and
importing all objects. I did have the option to import relationships ticked
but these have not come over.
The prospect of recreating the contents of the relationship window is
freaking me out.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm curious about your opinion on setting relationships.
When I designed my first app in Access I'd go to Tools/Relationships and
set the relationships. Over time I'd go into the window and see
relationship spaghetti....tables/queries all overthe place with lots of
relationship lines between here and there.
After that first app I didn't do relationships. If I had a query, I
defined the relationship. Many of the times when I create a...

Hi, I am using access 2003, I would like to know if there is an option
to reorganize the tables in a maner that is readable, as we can do in
sql sever 2000 or 2005.
I have been given a database to look a and I am loosing tremendious
amounts of time trying to organize it so that I could view it.

Hi all,
I have split my database a while ago, and now, I want to add a table
with relationships to other existing tables.
I open the BE, create my table, and then go to the relationships
design, but there is no tables, no relationships. Even when I add all
my tables, the relationships don't show up. I tried the "Show all" and
"Show direct" relationships buttons, but nothing.
I know that they are here cause when I create a new query with...

I posted an answer to someone's question, and realized I have more
questions than answers. Thus, I am going to post my scenario to get to
the question that I have:
I have a challenge, to figure out what part of the vehicle to relate
parts to. I can't relate a part to the entire vehicle. Why? Well, a
vehicle can have, apparently, more than one engine configuration. For
example, I have a Honda Civic with a 1.5L engine, and it can come with...

Hi All
its a basic question about Ms Access's Tables relationships.
I have 3 small tables. I am creating relations between them with the primary key.
I have a primary key : 'names'
I simply create relationships among the 3 tables using the mouse drag-drop.

I have a FE, BE database on my home computer and a duplicate on the office
computer. Both use Ak2 on Windows XP. The one at home appears normal.
The BE consists of about 50 tables with numerous relationships and the FE 9
tables (fixed set up stuff) + the 50 linked table from the BE database. At
home on the relationship view I see all the tables and their relationships,
but on the office machine I see only the relationships between the FE...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
