Split database: relationships not showing at all

Hi all,

I have split my database a while ago, and now, I want to add a table
with relationships to other existing tables.
I open the BE, create my table, and then go to the relationships
design, but there is no tables, no relationships. Even when I add all
my tables, the relationships don't show up. I tried the "Show all" and
"Show direct" relationships buttons, but nothing.
I know that they are here cause when I create a new query with related
tables, I can see the relations (although they are just line, with no
arrows).
I still have my old database that is not split with all my
relationships design.
Is there any way I can import the relationships design from my old db
in my new BE db?

Thanks,
Celine

Stop changing your name, it's irritating.

Steve? Or Manningfan? You're not going to be ridiculed if you ask a
question... one gets ridiculed here for behaviour, not questions.

board with my email... you must be mistaken...

Could it be just (known) buggy behavior of the Relations window? See if
you can read anything in the system table MSysRelationshi ps.

I have *no* pointers to restore order, however.

I am going to start a database and need to know the difference between Data Modeling, Schema and Database design? I always thought of Data Modeling and schema as defining relationships and primary and secondary key? What is mean when someone designs an E-R diagram and a Data Flow Diagram??

Long, long ago when Access 97 first hit the streets a sample database called Northwind was shipped with it. At that time a number of articles had been posted on the correct procedure to remove all the sample data. Does anyone out there still have this information?

I have created an access database to allow us to enter the data from a short survey we did at work.. we only need this for less than a week to allow us to do the entry, so it doesn't need any security and I have not set any up (except that we all have login ids and passwords to get onto the network) I split the database into a front end (data entry form) and a back end (data table).. so that all three of us in the office can work on...

My question is basically about whether its best to do a small number database accesses and do most of the data organisation in sql stored procedures, or one larger fetch from the database and do the database organisation in the asp.net code: I am building a menu system for an online store. At the top will be the main 'departments' and on the side will be the sub-departments of whichever main department is selected, with its sub-sub...

I am construvcting a number of databases, some of which contain sensitive data and most of which do not. I am attempting to handle the security issues involved in protecting sensitive data in part by putting it in its own database. If the sensitive data is in a database called d_SensitiveData, and in that database there is a table called 't_A' (I know, not very informative, but this is only a trivially simple example :-), and I have a...

I am working on a database in ACCESS 2003. This is a simple DB with only one table. I have split the DB so I can upgrade and debug the front end before installing on my clients' computer. I used the ACCESS splitter utility and everything appeared to go OK. If I run "Copy of DB_be.mdb" I see only the table, not the Queries or Forms. When I run the front end "Copy of DB.mdb" I see the Queries and Forms. but, I also see the Table. If I...

I have 1 FE database which can be linked to a number of BE databases. The BEs are all different Clubs e.g. Sailing Club, Yacht Club, Bridge Club, Family etc. Problem is if I change anything in the table structure or relationship of one of these clubs, I want to make sure I do it with the other clubs as well. Has anyone got routine that will check that each BE database has 1) All the tables (even though some will be empty e.g. Bridge...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
