Hi,

A quick question on this:

Which version of Oracle are you using, and do you have the latest ODBC drivers for it?

I found something similar happened to me a while ago, and upgrading to the latest ODBC drivers from Oracle for my version fixed it.

Regards,
Zwoker.

My Access 2002-application need to work with tables from both Oracle and Access. To solve this, I want to run some querys on three views in Oracle and import the results into temporary Access-tables. I have tried this: conn.Provider = "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" conn.ConnectionString = "data source=" & datafil & ";Jet OLEDB:Database Password=" conn.Open datafil

I used the Migration Workbench for Oracle 9.2 Client to migrate the tables in an Access 2K back-end database to Oracle. (The Migration Workbench is intended to automate the process of migrating tables from Access to Oracle.) Following the migration, when I try to link the Oracle table to the Access front-end using Oracle ODBC Driver, I have to either select one or more fields in the Oracle table as key fields or not have any key fields. ...

I have a bit of vb code that uses Tables.Append to programatically link tables from Oracle and DB2 datasources. The problem I am having on some client machines is that the link will take anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes to link the table. When I manually link the tables, through Access, it takes no time at all. Note that only certain client have the problem, and the problem will sometimes go away. These clients will usually get an ODBC Call...

I'm using Access to view data from an Oracle 9i database. When I try to link an Oracle database, the PC appears to Hang before finally presenting the list of tables to choose from. It's a large Oracle Database (lots of objects) and I know it's pulling every object over to make up this list. It may take as long as 3 minutes of waiting before seeing the table list. Is there a workaround/configuration setting for this?

Hi All, I've had Access 97, 2000 connections to the corporate Oracle database for a few years now - but seldom use it. When I did use it years ago, performance was not fast but the features were good enough. Now, the version of Access is 2003 with Office SP1 applied, Windows XP against Oracle 9.2. And attached tables are real slow - 5 mins to get to datasheet view and data is incorrect - the same row is repeated several times even in...

The machine is running XP Pro with all the latest service packs, etc. I must access an Oracle database so I installed the Oracle client stuff. I can query Oracle from a Windows app, no problem. Using the exact same code (copy and paste) into a Web app I get the following error "Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-01019". Security I thought, so I use Impersonation on the Web site, then the aspnet_wp.exe crashes with "The...

Hi all, I am having trouble getting linked Oracle 9 server in MS SQL Server 2005 Express to work properly. My machine is running Windows XP. The Microsoft and Oracle OLE DB Providers have problems dealing with Oracle's Numeric Data Type, so I decided to use Microsoft's OLE DB for ODBC Provider and an Oracle ODBC source. When using the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Driver in my ODBC source I have inconsistent behavior. Sometimes my queries...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
