I am using VB 6.0 Working Model (the one with no help files).
I have a form. On a portion of the form I have a Picture Box. On the
PicBox I want to draw something to follow the mouse. I can detect the mouse
position as it is moved. If it moves a certain distance I want to erase the
PicBox and draw something at a new position. I can do this successfully.
My problem comes when I move the mouse outside of the PicBox. I want to
detect this and...

I have set onmousedown to change the cursor, but this setting is ignored
(IE 5.5; NN 6.1 on Win 2K Pro) until the mouse is either moved or the
mouse button is released. On Opera 7.01, the setting seems to be ignored
completely, even when I try with window.setTimeout.
So my two questions are: (1) Most important: Is there anything I can do
so that I don't have to wait for the next mouse event before the cursor
gets repainted. (2) Why...

Hi,
I have an MDI app that allows user to create flowcharts.
User can drag flowchart objects (squares, rectangles,
elipses, etc) from the toolbar and put on a form. They
should be able to move the objects around on the form.
This is where the problem is, I have implemented this
using the mouse_down, mouse_up and mouse_move events of
the form. When user selects a object, I receive the

I need to be able to move a Panel on a windows Form at run time using
the mouse. I have tried adding a MouseDown event handler to the Panel
and then within the MouseDown handler adding a MouseMove event to the
Panel and then setting the Panel's Location to a new Point(x, y) with
x and y set to the mouse's x and y, but this does not work because the
MouseDown event of Panel only sends the cords of the mouse within that
Panel. I need to be...

Hey guys,
I have 2 events on a windows forms datagrid, the mouse move as well as the
double click events.
What's happening is that when I double click on a row in the grid, the mouse
move event gets triggered and the double click is not identified at all.
Is there any way I can invoke the double click when the mouse move also
exists?

I have a really professional conspiracy movie site
and I use tons of layers and an external scroll bar assembly.
I would like to put the various sections into MS Iframes and
in order to clean up the page but I find that the iframes interfere
with the getting the mouse coords from the screen which is
essential in moving the scroll bar around.
My test html is given below. With the iframe hidden the mouse coords
are obtainable. With the...

It's an interesting question, as I see it.
I have a form, in which there are a few command buttons, which change color when the mouse is on top of them (On Mouse Move). Now, I want the color to be changed back to normal when the mouse moves away from the command's button area. The only way I have figured up untill now how of to do it, is having a big text box around the command buttons area, which is sent to back, and to have On Mouse Move...

I made a game with a window form that needs to record the mouse
position to an array at 100 samples per second, so I use the mouse
move event to do the job.
The problem is the mouse move event is raised by my software at max 30
times per second. I have determined I should use a timer event on
every 10 msec to raise the mouse event, but then I need the same mouse
event that is sent to the mouse move function in the mouse move event
how...

Hi,
How can I define in Firefox whether the left mouse button is pressed
when I move mouse over a html element?
The documentation says that "e.button == 0 for standard 'click',
usually left button"
http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/DOM:event.button
Tracing of mouse clicks or mousedown/mouseup events looks not
reliable, because mouse can be pressed elsewhere out of the html
element (even outside of the browser) and then move over the...

In the following script, a control displays (black box) in each table
cell once you mouse over the cell. Mouse down on the control to change
the mode of the table. Drag the mouse over cells in the same column
then mouseup anywhere in a cell. The mouseup event sometimres fires
before the selection of table cells by dragging is complete. It's
important that I stop these "false" mouseup's from firing or
distinguish them from when I let go of...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
