Link from one database to tables of other database

Hi,
I am trying to Link one MS Access database to the tables of a second
MS Access database using Tools-->Database Utilities-->Linked Table
Manager.

I receive the error "Method 'List' of Object 'IFieldListWnd' failed"

I have been successful in doing this before, but do not understand why
I can't seem to do this, this time?

Thanks for your ideas!

Figured it out. For whatever reason, I must first open the application
MS Access 2000. Following this I must open the first Access database
via the application MS Access 2000 and then proceed to linking the
first Access database with the second Access database.

Hello out there, this morning I had to get some rows via flashback query. Since my undo retention is just 3h, the undo segments were already aged out. But I have a physical standby database that is mounted read only during daytime for report processing etc. On this one the old data is still available, but I was not able to pull them over to my primary site. Here is what I tried:

Hello -- I am using Enterprise Architect, a UML modeling tool, which is built on a pre-Access 2000 mdb. The database describing the model has the extension ".eap". I want to build some queries, reports, etc., on this model and want to store them in a separate mdb. Is there a way to link to objects in an Access database that has a non-"mdb"

Hi, all I have moved a backend/frontend database (2 mdb files) to a different computer, a task done over and over in the past. The location on the second computer has a different path name from the location on the former computer. When I try to refresh the table links at the new location through the Linked Table Manager, the window that appears that usually holds all of the names of the tables to be refreshed, is totally empty. Of...

I have an Access 2002 program that I install using Wise. The first thing my program does when a front end is opened is re-link, then it checks the version and if needed upgrades the backend. My problem is that I have a new front end version upgrade that creates several new tables in the backend and then links them. So when the program opens up it checks the version in the backend and if needed creates new tables & new links. Now when...

I have an Access 2000 application that uses the following function to re-link my tables when I switch from my Current back end to a Dummy back end. I also use it to refresh my links. My front-end code manually links to the backend file. I was wondering what stops Access from linking to the system tables in the backend file. Is it just by virtue that they are hidden? This has recently come up because I've been playing around with converting my front end to A2003 format. At some point, I had a corruption issue with a system file MSStorage something. Access kept saying it couldn't find it. When I looked in the db...

Hello I currently Link the FE/BE using the LinkTables Option and the Linked Table Manager. Any time I need to move the BE to another location, I have to go through this process over again. I need the flexibility of being able to move the BE data to wherever I want, without manually going through this process. I just want to change the Path/Filename that I keep in a FE Table. I want to be able to place a Path/Filename in a FE Table...

Hi, I've done this before so I don't see what I could doing wrong here. I'm running mysql 5x on freebsd. I'm using the default data directory of "/var/db/mysql" In there I have several dozen mysql datasbases that are functioning perfectly. I am trying to add a database which will be stored on a different drive, therefore the entry in "/var/db/mysql" should be a symbolic link

I just started using Access 2003, and I can't link a SQL Server table. I right-click on the database window; select Link Tables; and select ODBC Databases from the Files of Type dropdown. As soon as I select ODBC Databases from the Files of Type dropdown, the entire dialog box disappears. No error message. Just disappears, and I'm back at the database window. I have tried this with other databases, including a brand new blank one, and...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
