This one has me really stumped, so I thought I'd ask publicly.
I was trying to take my ASP.NET web page "template" -- banner graphic, small
navigation bar, and user feedback message area -- and make it into a user
control. I wanted to stretch one of the graphics so it always went all the way
across the browser window. So far, so good... And then, I wanted to take the
two-cell table that holds the naviagation bar and make it always...

Subject: toolbar script problem
NNTP-Posting-Host: 192.92.126.136
Recently, I downloaded the following beautiful script
"http://javascript.internet.com/navigation/toolbar-menu.html". It
works like a charm. I made my webpage in frames, where the nav-frame
shows the menubar, so whenever I click a link in the menubar, it opens
in the frame below. But...

I have a char array and when I write it to a file using BinaryWriter the
position of the pointer is the size of the array + 1. For example: writing
char leaves the pointer at position 26 after starting at position 0. I
thought that char was 2 bytes, but this makes it seem as though it is just 1
when I write to a file. Why is this? I imagine the extra bit is just a null
bit (correct me if I'm wrong). I don't know if this helps but when I...

I'm currently developing an application in C++/MFC (Visual Studio 6,
if that makes a difference) and I'd like to avoid the Windows style UI
widgets and dialogs if at all possible.
In fact, what I'd really like to do is use HTML/web pages as the user
interface and invoke my application in the background to do the heavy
lifting. I'm fairly well experienced with web pages and I've written
a fair amount of JavaScript at one time or another...

With the help from members in the VB forum I've pieced together code
that works in VB6 to create radial text similar to "text on a path"
seen in graphics programs.(on a circle only)
I use an Access2003 app to gather the data via a barcode reader which
is then concatenated for the radial text.
Is there any possibility that this code can be converted to run in
Access2003?

Hi,
I have done a fair amount of style editing inline in ASP. I'm now
using VS 2005 with a standard web project (not Web Application
Project). This is my first foray into CSS in a style sheet and also my
first true attempt at using master pages. I tried setting up a style
sheet with a simple setting to float an image to the right and it had
no effect on the image.
Then, I tried putting the style code in my ASPX file as such,

Hi All,
I've got a few toolbars in my application hosted in a
ToolStripContainer. I have found a problem whereby the location of a
toolbar is not restored when doing a LoadSettings if the toolbar is in
the same ToolStripPanel as specified in the settings.
For example, create a toolbar in ToolStripContainer.TopToolStripPanel
and save settings. Drag to tool bar somewhere else within
ToolStripContainer.TopToolStripPanel and then load...

I've searched this forum and trawled the wider web and can't find any
information on how to hide or disable the A2007 Quick Access Toolbar.
The toolbar is not something that one wants available to the user in a
custom application.
Can it be disabled or hidden and if so, how?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
