At first I was not certain what could cause Access 97 from displaying
most jpeg images, but not all. After further testing, it seemed that
all original images of less than 275 pixels per inch or less would
display, but those close to 300 pixels/inch or greater would not (MS
Access cannot recognize the file format xxx.jpg). The larger, original
images were scanned and saved as .bmp (at 300 dpi producing a 15MB
file). Then the images were...

I am looking for a good control that would display/print JPEG
images in Access 97. The existing Image controls, even with
the JPEG filters, are very slow - and I know there are better
ones out there (preferably freeware).
TIA...

Does anybody have a suggestion of a software or component to use if you want
to display JPEG or TIFF images in a control within Access?
I know that Office can do this but my customer don't want to install Office
in his PC since he is only using this PC for this Access application.
I am looking for some share- or freeware that can render various kinds of
imagefiles.
regards
Orjan

Hi Everybody
I have an Access 2000 db with a setup for inserting images in records.
I am using the image path only with the actual images stored elswhere
on the hard disc. This works perfectly well with all of Microsoft
developer installed on the system.
The problem is when I give this to a user who has NOT got Access 2000,
ie I just give him an installation that installs a runtime, my
frontend/backend and images, an error says that...

I've been clicking around Access 2007 Beta 2 and can't see the custom
menu bar designer. Is it in the beta? Maybe I'm blind. The question
that comes to mind is: Will custom menu bars be the same height as they
were in previous versions or will they be the "ribbon" style that takes
up a huge portion of the screen?
Also when I use Access 2007 to open an Access 2003 database that has
custom menu bars they display as they did in Access...

Hi, I have an Access 2002 - 2003 database. I am using Access 2003.
Whenever I link an image all it shows is the filename. Not the image.
Other versions of Access can link the image just fine. The properties
look the same whether I use XP or 2003 versions of Office.
If I take an earlier version of Access and link the image, it puts the
image. I can also see the image in 2003. If I link the image using
2003 it only shows the filename....

I've come up against a major headache that I can't seem to find a solution
for but I'm sure there must be a workaround and I would really be grateful
of any help.
I'm currently building a web site for a small club I belong to and one of
the features I would like to include is the ability to allow users to upload
image files.
unfortunately the servers web root www folder only allows READ and EXECUTE
permissions, which makes it...

Hi !! I'm about to develop a new project for a client.
Should I go about it in Access 2003 or 2007 ? Purchasing it either
for me or for my client is not a major consideration here ... what I'd
like to know is the stability, speed & ease of use of both the
products.
I believe Access 2007 has a new file format too and that it may be
slower.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
