does access resets margins when distributing reports?

ARC
Hello all,

I have a few custom reports I've created for end-users, and it appears that,
when I distribute the runtime .accde, access is resetting the margins. Does
anyone know for sure if access 2007 does this?

I know you can set the paper size, and even margins with the report object,
but I have found that using this code ONLY works if you first preview the
report. For whatever reason, if you send the report straight to the printer
with the acNormal command, it will ignore the margin and/or paper size
commands.

Does anyone have ideas on a good solution, or should I just make them
preview the report first, then print from the preview mode?

Many Thanks,

Andy

Hi, I'm a bit confused ... when would I rather write an database application using MS Access and Visual Basic and when (and why) would I rather write it using Visual Studio .Net? Is it as easy in Visual Studio to create reports and labels as it's in Access?` The advantage of VS.net is that not every user needs Access, right? And that would eliminate the Access version problem as well I guess.

Hi Everybody I have an Access 2000 database full of names and address, the usual thing. I am able to print out an A4 (UK paper size) letter that lines up with a window envelope and shows the address just great. Keeps the mailman happy. However The problem is that there are so many different envelope

Hello I already initiated a thread with the same name on 22/03/2004. Thank you everyone who answered me. I wanted to link to that thread, but somehow there was no "Post follow on article" link(?). Sorry for repetition, but the story has developed a bit. We have an Access 2000 database application - reports distributor. Reports are created by developers, then reports and queries are copied into a database (Access 2000 also) on network. It...

We converted our databases from Access 97 to Access 2002 (only the MDB files, not the MDW file). In addition we ported the Access application from a Citrix NT server to a Citrix XP server. We users accessing the application Globally via the Citrix Servers and have been experiencing the following error on a daily basis: Disk or Network Error

Hi Guys: I was stuck. I needed to send a report to a file. My beautiful report(s) in Access were going to require loss of formatting with RTFs, a PITA in WordMailMerge, sending it as a text file...whatever. I described my situation to the guy I'm doing work for and he did some research for me and came up with the following link. http://www.novapdf.com/ The part that should excite us Access developers is their SDK

We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that. I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access 2003, not 2002, even if Office is kept at 2002. We are also looking to do a fair amount of...

I have built an MS Access Application under MS Office XP (but I also own MS Office 2000). I have split the application in the pure database tables and all the queries, forms, reports and macro's. Now i want to use this application for different foundations in the Netherlands but I want to secure my application so no one can change it, copy it or steal it from me. I always thought there was a kind of conversion tool that would translate...

I'm confused about what is necessary to distribute an Access 2003 application to people that don't have MS Access (or don't have the right version) installed on their PCs. I have done some research on the MS website, as well as on this newsgroup, and have never found a clear explanation of what is required. I have written an application that I would like to sell, but if I can only sell to those with access to Access (sorry, couldn't...

Hello, I have been having a problem with my database lately. Everything seems to be working well accept the reports. Everytime I open the report I have to reformat the report margins to get everything to fit on one page. I was wondering first if it is even possible to create an access macro or a combination of a macro and a module to run a format on the report when on the time the report opens so that I can view everything on one page. I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
