Refresh all forms if open by multiple users

I am looking for a way to have an access form update for multiple
users. I have a form where certain fields will be updated on
individual computers, and there may be 3 or 4 users that have the form
open at a time. Is there a way to have all users forms simultaneously
refresh when a field is updated by one of the clients??? ex. Multiple
users have same form open, one makes a change to the data and is
critical for other users to see that change as it happens or close to
when it happens.

Wait a minute.

That's the defaiult refresh time in Access. If you want to reduce the
time between refreshes, use the menu bar, Tools->Options->Advanced to
set the Refresh Interval (secs): property to a lower value, at the
expense of slowing down the application.

Hey, I'm running a localhost web server...W2K with IIS 5.0, and I'm trying to use ASP/ADO to access my Access database. When I first load the page, everything works, but if i hit refresh (F5 or even Ctrl-F5), I get "page cannot be displayed" with the problem line of code being the database Open command (the starred line in the snippet below). If I press Refresh repeatedly, that doesn't help. After a minute or two, refreshing the page...

Hello All, I have been working on this for almost a week now and I haven't anything up my sleeves anymore that I could test in addition or change.... Since I am not sure, if this is a Windows 2003 Server or ADO or ODBC issue, I am posting this on all of the three newsgroups. That's the setup: Windows 2003 Server with IIS and ASP.NET actiavted Access 2002 mdb file (and yes, proper rights are set on TMP paths and path,

I plan to write a Windows Forms MDI application for a medical office. Users must be able to select a patient and view related information on multiple forms; with1-4 forms opened at the same time for the same patient; each form showing a different type of patient-related information. After viewing information for one patient (say on 3 forms opened simultaneously), users want the ability to select another patient. Upon selection of another...

I guess this is a simple one but I can't seem to get it to work. I want to refresh an open form "onClose" of another. I have a Close button on a form which has User Details on it. If I update the data on that from, I want it to automatically refresh the details which are shown on an open form. I was going to use the default access code DoCmd.DoMenuItem acFormBar, acRecordsMenu, 5, , acMenuVer70

Hi everyone, I have been updating a file that uses a main form that contains a subform (as a datasheet). The main form really does not do anything on opening except maximizes to the users screen size. The subform however runs an "embedded" query (cause I don't know the right term) to show a list of records based on the embedded query. BTW, by embedded, I'm indicating the form does not run an external query but uses the query included...

I have a multi-user Access database with back- and front end on the network. Problem is that the forms don't get refreshed automatically: if user A enters a record it will only become available to user B if user B closes the form and re-opens it. I know that I can add a button to the form that does Me.Requery but I can't imagine there isn't a possibility that does this automatically and without noticing it. I Is this common Access...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
