Trusted locations ACC2007

Hi all,
Read the posts about the trust centre, has anyone else encountered
this?
I've set up a trusted location for my front end, and that works OK on
my development folder.
I changed the trust centre folder for the distributed copy.
The copy and any copy on the user's machine ignores the trusted
location and requires the user to enable the content.
I've tried deleting and re-entering the trusted location, any
suggestions?

That is a setting *on your machine* not *of the file*. Every user will need to
make that same setting on their PC inside Access.

G'day Rick,
To test the Trust Centre settings I copied the distribution file to my
desktop, deleted/reenterded the trusted locations and it still ignored
the change. I reopened the db I went looking around and also found
the country settings were US English, so since I only started using
2007 today decided I should have changed it to my location, next time
I opened the db that fixed the problem.
I know its not related, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it...

btw when I started Access for the first time today the Navigation Pane
did not appear by default as claimed in the Acc 2007 help file...could
be off putting for some poor devil.

Thanks for your response.

Think about what a trusted location is. You are telling Access "I trust the
files at this location so don't bother me with security warnings". A setting
like that only makes sense if it applies to your installation of Access as it
pertains to your user profile on that machine. It makes no sense for a file to
have a trusted folder setting because a file is not what warns you about the
security ramifications of opening other files. It is Access that does that.

Here's a first attempt at trusted python. I would be grateful if any python gurus could point out the, no doubt obvious, flaws. I've stopped fileobject working with patches to fileobject and frameobject. All child frames of the first 'trusted' frame are trusted (checked using inspect.getouterframes(inspect.currentframe()). Trusted is a one-way switch. Is there anything I'm missing about the python frame structure? Is there any way of...

So we have a client who doesn't want to run a Service Level Account (either via an Application Pool or IIS impersonation) and we need to connect to a remote SQL Server instance w/ Read-Write permissions. They don't want to do it that way due to the maintenance issues with passwords in multiple locations. We're using an OLE connection to SQL server and currently have the username and password obfuscated (not strong encryption but not) in...

I have developed an inventory application with Access 2007 that I need to set up on 10 other PC's in our office (running XP). I loaded Access Runtime 2007 on the PC's but get the annoying trusted location warning... Used regedit to add all the registry keys for the location of the database which it resides in a shared folder on the file server (office uses workgroups to share files and printer).. It may just be a syntax problem with...

There are a few guarantees I exploit in the C Standard. For instance, I might write (unsigned)-1 to get the maximum value for an unsigned integer. Also, I might rely on things such as: memset(data,-1,sizeof data)

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
