Exporting specific fields from tables

Hi,

I know how to export whole tables as follows...

<elsnipo>

'Export This Table

strTable = "tblthis"
strSql = "SELECT " & strTable & ".* INTO " & strTable & " IN """ &
conFile & """ FROM " & strTable & ";"
dbLocal.Execute strSql, dbFailOnError
strMsg = strMsg & dbLocal.Records Affected & " " & strTable & "
record(s)" & vbCrLf

'Export That Table

strTable = "tblthat"
strSql = "SELECT " & strTable & ".* INTO " & strTable & " IN """ &
conFile & """ FROM " & strTable & ";"
dbLocal.Execute strSql, dbFailOnError
strMsg = strMsg & dbLocal.Records Affected & " " & strTable & "
record(s)" & vbCrLf

</elsnipo>

....but I would like to know how to export specific fields from each
table, not just the whole table ?

Has anyone had any experience with doing that kind of thing?

I am making a copy of a dB on my local machine so I can work on the interface. But the username/password combination -- which works on the "live" site -- doesn't work on my local machine. Is there something about the PASSWORD() fxn in mysql that is specific to the installation?

Hello, I am new to this list and would appreciate some help with Access 2000 and Access 2003. I need to export our access database table statements by access database to place into our database model repository. We have several different relational databases, of which access is one, so we want to keep all of the SQL that creates tables in a single model repository. Is there some way within the access tool to export this information? I...

I am looking to export certain variables from ms access to ms word, Does anyone have any idea how this is done. So far my function collects data from two separate tables, and can open the word document that I need, but I am unable to figure out how to make it write the collected data to the new word document. Any help would be great. Public Sub ShipmentRequest_Click() Dim inv As Double Dim getINV As String

Some more, rather specific Access performance questions. IN a split front-end & back-end Access/Jet ONLY LAN situation, and with all query criteria fields and join fields indexed: 1. Is is good form to have a single query with base table with criteria joined to a related table - all in one query? Or should I do a two-step, first query does selection of main table and then join with other table? 2. I have a table with multiple...

Hi all-- In an attempt to commit an Access MDB to a versioning system (subversion), I'm trying to figure out how to convert a jet table's metadata to text, a la SaveAsText. The end goal is to be able to build an MDB completely from the svn repository text files. Has anybody dealt with this? Thanks in advance,

Hi First of all my level = basic! My question= I have a report containing student performance data with a sub-report showing the subjects they have taken that year. I run the report group by group, therefore returning many records, page by page, within the report. This works fine! BUT I have been unable to develop a dynamic crosstab query/report for the sub-report so I can't show the subjects in a table form as the subjcet columns...

I have what I think is a little strange...I have to get data from our payroll system into a specific format (fixed record length) as a .txt or .prn file only to upload to our 401k custodian. I can get the data into Access (from Payroll) and write a query with all the fields (inserting fields with spaces, as needed), but I can't figure out how to get it to export to a .txt file - without the field name header row. I don't really ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
