error code that trigged "on error" branch

2 New Member
Folks:

I'm an Access newbie, trying to modify an existing application and running into an error that I don't understand.

A tree view control is being loaded from an Access table and the "on error" branch is being triggered for reasons beyond me.

How do I find the actual error Access error code ( for which there would presumably be more information available ) that triggered the "on error" ?

I have a breakpoint set and don't know what to type into the debugger window to retrieve the code.

Thanks much.

In the first line after the error is trapped (probably the line after the label you skip to in the On Error statement) add :
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Call MsgBox("Source      = " & Err.Source & vbCRLF & _
  2.             "Number      = " & Err.Number & vbCRLF & _
  3.             "Description = " & Err.Description)

Beautiful, thank you very much.

I can't get this page to show in Internet Explorer, so I assume the error is quite grave. I'm using a PHP script to write the RSS file. In Netscape the page shows up as plain text. "Item" is used in RSS .91 examples, so how can it be undefined? I'm running this page:

Hello everybody, I have some code that disables form elements on body load, but I notice when I hit the "back" button, I need to re-enable the form elements (that is done by clicking on a radial button). Is there any way I can keep the form for disabling every time a user hits the back button and "remember" what elements should be enabled? I was thinking maybe utilizing some referrer thing, but I'm not that good with JS yet. Thanks...

Hi, I have a password-protected area on my site. I'm not using any server authentication methods: Instead I prompt the user for a username and password using an HTML form and check these against a database of registered users. I was thinking that this page should be returning a HTTP status code of "401 Unauthorized" instead of its current "200 OK". My reasoning being that this would let search engines know what's going on when they

I wanted to access some properties of a panel control that is on a different form. So, I went to the (Declarations) section of my main form (the form with the panel) and changed the panel (called "panKnob") from "Friend WithEvents" to "Public Shared WithEvents" so that I could access it from another class (i.e. frmMain.panKnob.Visible=True") I get this build error: "The variable 'panKnob' is either undeclared or was never assigned." ...

Hi there, if I try to access a table named Position in an Access-Database via OleDbDataAdapter I get an error. If I rename the table to e.g. Positions it works. Any idea how to solve this problem? (There are about 5.000 databases out there at our customers with a table in it named Position!) Thanks a lot for your help

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
