Accessing a dll from within Access

Hi,

My company has a database which I need to read from my database now
and again. This db can only be read via a dll written in C#. I need to
read data from this database and popule a table in my own database
which is programmed via MsAccess.

How would I go about communicating to the dll via VBA,

Thanks,

Barry.

That depends because there are 3 styles of DLLs.
If it's a .Net DLL you can't call it.
If it's a .Net component with a COM wrapper around it, it's like any
other COM DLL and you can set a reference (Code window Tools >
References) and create objects of the exposed types call their public
interfaces.
If it's a classic DLL you can write a Declaration line in a standard
module and call the API.

Fairly new to ASP.NET 1.1. Getting the error below when running application on a web server outside of my control, but only the first time I run it: 1. After a long period of inactivity (or updating the code-behind dll) accessing any aspx page in the application causes the application to run for the first time. Some of the initialization involves reading and writing some text and xml files using simple streamreader and streamwriter...

I have been wondering this for a while now. Suppose I have a class that contains some private member variables. How should I access the variables throughout the class? Should I use properties that expose the variables or is it OK to just access the variables directly? Keep in mind that I am talking about accessing the variables from within the class that they are defined. Thanks!

I have a page with a bunch of iframes (which make up a tab control). At least one of these iframes contains an aspx page, which in turn contains a .ascx component. This component then contains a datagrid. Is there any way that I can access this datagrid from one of the other iframes? The grid contains a template column containing checkboxes, and I need to access the rows for which the checkbox is selected from this other iframe. Since...

I can access the SideBarList steps successfully with the following code... Control myContainer = (Control)Wizard1.FindControl("SideBarContainer"); DataList mySideBarList = (DataList)myContainer.FindControl("SideBarList");

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
