I am working a new application...well actually a series of applications for
my company. They want internal users to be able to go to a site and
everything regarding security is transparent, however we will have brokers
and customers that also need to connect and will require a username and
password. In this case we were going to store their credentials in a SQL
database. Internal users will have the ability to access the same resources...

Hi
Hi
We are currently upgrading from access 97 to office 2003 on site. We
would like to upgrade our access databases to Access 2003 but we wish
to remove Microsoft access software from our end users so that we can
control the creation of databases. Is there a way that our end users
can still use these upgraded access databases without having access
2003 installed on their machines. The mdes will reside on a server so
they can be...

I have several Access databases, identical in structure, but different data. Is there an
easy way to combine them all into one database? There are six tables, I just want the
data from all databases merged into one database.
Thanks in advance.

I have a table with multiple records in it. I am being forced to
combine multiple records into one record in order to be uploaded to a
website, and I only get one record per client. How can I
systematically combine multiple records into 1?
The table looks like this
Client ID Service Status
1 Doc Pending
1 Test Pending

Is there a way to find out where an application was created from?
i.e. - work or home
i.e. - if application sits on a (work) server/network, the IT people know the
application is sitting there, but is there a way they can find out if that
application was put there from a CD or email or created at work?
Hint: It's not on a client/server database, just native jet database mdb
created on Access 2003 (default 2000)...

I am at a complete loss on how to do this. I am using Microsoft Access
2000, to implement a preliminary version of a reasonably modest
relational database.
I have two Access Tables (imported from MS Excel spreadsheets), and I
need to somehow get the data for a "Person_ID" brought over from one to
the other.
In Table_A, there are many records for each person, and the first and
last name are included, but the Person_ID field is empty....

Hello,
I am working with a database that is in use in several locations.
The structure of the databases are identical, but the data is
different.
I am tasked with combining the data into one large database.
(It is SQL 2000)
I have .bak files for each location.
Is there any way to restore a backup into a database, combining the
data?

Hello,
I am fairly new at doing advanced databases outside of excel.
I am trying to combine records in a database I will be using, none of the, CONCAT Queries or scripts I have found seem to work quite right.
What I need is something to combine records like this:
ID Machine
AAG99999 CANON 225
ADL900221 OLIVETTI F231

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
