After reinstallation of Access97 all users have Read-only rights (was Access problem)

2 New Member
Hello Im Kostas from greece and i have a problem.

I am administrator in a local network with 2 dc with 2000 server and 40 clients mixed with xp sp2 and win2000.

Before 3 days the pdc crashed due to hdd failure and i reinstall everything.
4 clients work on the same shared msaccess97 db two with read only rights and two with full access rights. After reinstallation of the server the 4 clients receive the message from the database "You cant make changes to the records", everybody have read only rights.
When i open the db from server, everything is ok.

What is the problem??

Excuse my bad english.

I've seen examples for creating Access2000 database using interop w/ "Microsoft ADO Ext. 2.7 for DDL and Security" BUT I cannot seem to open w/ Access07, is there another approach I can use? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Cheers!

Hi all, I am attempting to use Access97 as the database to hold the results of a python script. I seem to be able to make simple SELECT clauses work (like SELECT * FROM TableName), but have not been able to figure out how to add a WHERE clause to that (e.g., SELECT * FROM TableName WHERE myFieldName = 34) This fails complaining that the wrong number of parameters are present. I haved tried DAO36 and I have tried the ADO version with the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
