Hello,
I have a table in MS Access database. It has one field (with BYTE datatype)
that has several properties set in Lookup tab of table Design View.
Display Control = Combo Box. Row Source Type = Value List. Row Source = "1;
"Above"; 2; "Below"; 3; "Equal"".
When I try to SELECT <field> FROM <table> in my C++ application through ADO,
I get numeric value of the field. How can I get string representation of
this numeric value from the...

Struggling a bit here & would be grateful for any help.
I have a table which has a list of people in it. Each person has a unique ID
automatically allocated by Access but also belongs to one of 5 Groups - call
them A to E. I'd like to generate a further automatic reference number based
on something like Group/Unique ID so when I create a new record Access
creates the Unique ID & I then enter in the group and then Access combines
the two...

Hello
I've developed several data access pages and I searched for the same
problems in different internet pages but I never got back a usable
answer. Here are my questions:
1) How is it possible to requery a single combobox in a data access
page?
Of course it's possible to requery the whole data access page (e.g.
MSODSC.DataPages(0).Requery or window.location.reload(true)) But

I have a data entry form that contains drop-down lists such as
'Assigned to:' with a list of staff member names. Those names end up as
numerical codes in the main table ('ProjectInfo') of the Access
database. Is there some way - such as a SQL satement added to a query
already set up in Access - to add a statement such as 'if 1 then
'Smith', if 2 then 'Brown', if 3 then 'Williams' ', and so on? That
would be an automated way to quickly get...

I have a combobox on a form with the following row source SQL query.
SELECT tblSupplyType.SupplyName, tblSupplyType.PWS_ID
FROM tblSupplyType
WHERE (((tblSupplyType.SupplyName)=Forms!!bxPWSName2));
After I close the form, Access rewrites the query to this:
SELECT tblSupplyType.SupplyName, tblSupplyType.PWS_ID
FROM tblSupplyType

Hi Everyone,
I am at my wit's end here. I have a combobox (combyQueryTitle) that I
need to use in order to select a query for my database project. Therefore,
I am using the comboQueryTitle_SelectedIndexChanged handler to, when a new
selection is made, update the query and refresh the display. The only
problem is that the program seems to inexplicably start with the
..selectedindex property at -1! This makes no sense to me. ...

I have created a bound subform on an unbound masterform linked together
with a common field (A store's identification number) using an unbound
combobox on the masterform and an invisible field on the subquery,
which filters for a particular store. The subform is in continuous
mode. So, what you see when you select a store is a list of all the
items that that have not been billed for. There is a simple yes no
field that filters out all...

Hi,
I have some basic SQL experience (more programming and EXCEL
experience) and I am having a hard time generating a particular query.
My table is a historical database with columns (station,name,value,
time) for each time stamp and station there may be up to 50 records
each with a different name. What I want to do is for each value of
station retrieve the values for names matching key1,key2, and key3 at
the time key0 is at it's...

Hey All;
I have a form with a ComboBox. I populate the ComboBox with the following query:
SELECT ., . FROM customers ORDER BY .;
This query populates the comboBox with all the customer names from the customer table. I want to be able to select a customer from the comboBox and pass it as a parameter to another query, but what I keep getting is the customers.id from the customers table as an integer when I really want the customers...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
