Report Printing Problem

1 New Member
I'm definitely not a MS Access expert (more a real novice..)

I have a report that I inherited for support. The user is complaining that when the report is printed - it prints on legal-sized paper (versus the letter size that was specified).

The report has 1 column which is 13.47" wide. I've tried printing the report on a number of different printers (to rule out driver issues). Each time thet report is printed... it elects to use the legal-size paper.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Glenn

Open up the report in design view. Then from the menu bar select
File - Page Setup and change the print settings as desired (margins, paper size, etc.) then save the report. The report will now have those characteristics embedded.

Using Acc2000, only the report itself not printing. The following have been tested, with no problem: 1) the print drivers are fine. 2) printed the query (source of the report) 3) printed sample form, no problem here 4) also printed sample word document, no problem 5) Two workstations printed the same report, without a hitch, only this one pc causing problems 6) Re-created the DB from scratch, still not printing

The solution you suggested works very good - thanks again. I encountered a new problem related to this topic. According to your advise I put the following line to print and format event: Me.BookCover.Picture = IIf(Me.IsCover= true, Me.BookCoverPath, "") to avoid problems when the file specified in field does not exist I add a logical field to source table: indicating physical presence of the file. Surprisingly when there is no file ...

All, I have exhaustingly been looking through the newsgroups in search of a way to systemically output an Access 97 report to a pdf file using the full version of Adobe Acrobat. I want the user to be able to click a button and have the Access report saved as a pdf in a directory specified by me the programmer. I have seen a posting by John Baker promoting a web-sight that has an mde that one can reference in any database but after 30...

Here's one that's going to leave me bald before long - I have a report (no headers or footers, small detail section) that runs normally when I open it from the database window. When I run it from code: DoCmd.OpenReport "rpt_Name", acViewPreview I get five records on the first page, and only one record on the second

I am creating some financial reports in Access 2000, and I am having problem that I can't resolve. The report sorts information first by vendor, then by budget line number. It generates the information I need accurately, but I am having problems with the layout. -The budget line header contains information about the vendor--it looks great. -The budget line footer contains the sum, and I am not having any problems there.

Hello, I have 7 different crystal reports that need to be collated. Since I want to end up with a page of each (which all together make a single report), I created a blank main report and then added the 7 as subreports so they can print one after the other. I'm supposed to be printing them from a VB.Net 2003 application and I will be passing 2 parameters (start and end dates). These reports are huge (over 1000+ pages each). My original...

(I apologize if this is a repeat. I was told to post under the managed news group. I'm a little confused, but...) I'm running SRS 2000 with SP2 and I'm using IE 6.0 with SP2 (and IE 7.0) to display and print my reports. After printing a report, there seems to be some problem with character sets or locale settings for IE. I have a web page that displays financial data with dollar signs. After printing (or previewing) a report, the...

I have a problem with pages being printed out of order. An example is a 15 page duplexed report. Title page fine back of title page blank. (As it should be) SEcond page front, bottom says Page 1 of 15. Second page back says Page 10 of 15. Third page front says Page 3 of 15. Third page back says Page 4 of 15. Special not Page 10 of 15 is the correct page IE it duplicated page 10 and placed it in place of page 2. The real page two is...

Hello, I have a MS Access 2000 question. I created a main report that consists of different subreports in the Detail section. I have a couple of queries that create tables for certain cities (the user enters the City ID). Everything works fine until the user enters an ID for a city that we don't have information for in all tables and then wants to see the report. When printing the separate subreports - the report still shows up just with an...

I have a DB that I developed on access XP (2002) and deployed over a year ago. No one has had problems printing any of the reports within the DB until we started loading 2007 on new computers. The access 2007 users cannot print one of the reports. This is maddening since I cannot duplicate the issue on any computer that runs 2003 or below. Is there something going on that I'm not seeing? Does anyone have any suggestions at all on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
