Formatting key words in search results report

27 New Member
Hello,

I developed a very simple form in which the user enters a keyword and the database returns all of the records that contain the keyword in its memo field. The resulting records are displayed in a report, each record displaying the entire memo field.

What I would like to do is have the keywords displayed in bold in the report, since often it is one keyword in a memo field that can be several paragraphs long.

If anyone could point me in the right direction here, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you,

John

Hi all, Ok - this leads on from speaking to a couple here and in the SQL server group... I've an application which allows the user to type in their text into a form, they add 'happy' tags around their words, the app then replaces these with the html equivalent and saves it to the database... Thus far this has been working very well.

Does anyone know a way you can use conditional formatting to create a banded style view as is commonly seen on the internet. (In othe words the first record appears on a gray background, the 2nd on white, the third on gray etc etc.) I could write an expression based on the odd/even status of the primary key but this wont work when sorting...

I've heard it's best not to have any formatting specified for Table fields (except perhaps Currency), and instead set the formatting in the Form or Report. But what about Yes/No fields? When I create a Yes/No field in a Table the default format is "Yes/No". If I clear or change the Format property in the General Tab (and keep the default...

Hi, My website's search function looks up entire phrases instead of individual words. For example, if I query "Google Groups," I would like my search to come up with everything in my database that has the words "Google" and "Groups," not just the phrase "Google Groups." I would want my search to bring back "Google-tastic Search" or...

Please help: I have Conditional Formatting on a Report Field that fills the background Red if the criteria is met. I would obviously like to retain the...
