Query sql sever temporary table through odbc

Hi,
Got some problems from reading temporary table I'm creating in my Sql
Server 2005 Database from Access 2K3 through ODBC.

I can create it successfully but can't find a way to query it !
The code below (the select part) returns me Microsoft Jet Engine Error
that tells me it can't find the object.

Any help would be most welcome !!

******
Dim strConnect As String
strConnect = "odbc;Driver={S QL Server};Server= " & DB_DEV_SERVER &
";Database= " & DB_DEV_DB & ";UID=" & DB_DEV_LOGIN & ";PWD=" &
DB_DEV_PWD

Dim db As Database
Set db = OpenDatabase("" , dbDriverNoPromp t, False, strConnect)

Dim strSql As String

'Create Temporary Table : WORKS
strSql = "select * into [##Test] from Whatever"
db.Execute (strSql)

'Select : PROBLEM!!!!
strSql = "select * from [##Test]"
Dim rst As Recordset
Set rst = db.OpenRecordse t(vTxt)

How Do I use an ODBC database in Query Analyzer? Presumably I could then join a table from another database to a SQL table to either pull information together or pass information back and forth between the two databases. Thanks.

I've got a query that comes up with a dataset list in < 3 seconds when run just in DataSheet mode...but the same query, when run as intended (Append to an empty table) takes upwards of 30 minutes to run. The target table is via an ODBC link to a temporary DB on the user's C: drive. The source tables are a mixture of Oracle, Sybase, and JET tables - all via ODBC links. Each component of the query comes up very quickly when run by...

Greetings I am assisting a developer with an Access application performance problem and an ODBC timeout. In a nutshell they have a combo box with a drop down that queries a lookup table on a SQL Server database over ODBC and returns 30,000+ records each time it is accessed. By using a stored procedure to view the locks on the tables in the DB we suspect that a locking issue or a dead lock occurs which is causing the timeout. Once the user...

There must be a way to enhance the performance of a query, or find a plausible workaround, but I seem to be hitting a wall. I have tried a few tweaks, however, there has been no improvement. Simply, I'm including one calcualtion from a separate table/query. It sums the total units sold to date by ProductID number and is used in other select queries to perform various calculations. Perhaps there is an advantage in working with a maximum...

Hi List, I'm running a query on a not-so-small db. Mostly this query runs fast enough, but every once in a while the query takes a long time to complete in wich case the users start banging away on the keyboard :-). What we would like to do is cancel the query after a certain time-out (e.g.30 sec.) Is there some way to send a command to the postgres sever to stop running the query? We're using Postgres 7.3.4 and the latest ODBC...

hello, I've got a big problem ad i'm not able to resolve it. We have a server running oracle 10g version 10.1.0. We usually use access as front end and connect database tables for data extraction. We have been using oracle client 10.1.0.2 with it's odbc for a while without problem. The problem arose when we decided to reconnect all the tables and save password. Some query became suddenly very slow. Then I've discovered that the tables...

Hi guys, I have a user who wants to have a report that shows only the 10th value recorded by his equipment. (i.e. His equipment records temperature every 30 seconds, but he only wants to view the data at every 5 minutes.) I proposed using the "mod" function in a WHERE statement on the seconds "datepart" to test if each datapoint is an interval of 5 minutes from the starting number.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
