Microsoft Graph Chart - Adding labels in Datasheet

26 New Member
Hi,

My database is in SQL Server with Access as front end.

I have a Microsoft Graph Chart for which the data is picked up with a query from the SQL Server.

In the DataSheet the first row is picked up as the label which is the first record in the database.

If I insert a row in the datasheet and then add a label its updating the chart correctly.

But because the data is dynamic when the chart / the report is run, the data gets refreshed from the database and the labels are removed from the datasheet, hence the chart displayed the graph only from the 2nd record assuming the first row in the datasheet as the labels. And hence the legend labels show the first record as labels.

Pls assist as the how I can add the labels in the datasheet so it wont change even when the data is refreshed.

Thanks & Regards,
Ruth.

Thanks for the reply.

Its just a normal sql statement.
Any select statement, first record is taken as the labels in the Chart.

I actually solved it by inserting an empty record as the first record.
For Legend since its static I created an image.

Thanks again,
Regards,
Ruth.

Hi I have a report with a graph on it and want to change the minimum and maximum values for the value axis when it is previewed. This can't be done by adding code in the Open event as once the report has started printing the properties can't be changed. It can be done with an MDB by opening it in design mode hidden, making the change, saving it and then opening it in preview mode. However, this obviously doesn't work in an MDE which...

I've got an 83-page report which contains an Microsoft Graph 8 Chart, but the report takes FOREVER to format, probably because the row source is a bit complex: TRANSFORM Sum(qryCallsSummarizedByArbitraryYear.CallCount) AS SumOfCallCount SELECT qryCallsSummarizedByArbitraryYear.DateByYear FROM qryCallsSummarizedByArbitraryYear GROUP BY qryCallsSummarizedByArbitraryYear.DateByYear PIVOT qryCallsSummarizedByArbitraryYear.;

I've been to http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/mschrt/html/vbobjtitleobject.asp, but still don't have a clue. For example, I've got a chart object namde 'grphStats' in a form named frmChart. ?Forms!frmChart!grphStats.Name returns "grphStats" as expected, but I can't get any further.

The following code is working for everything but the column formatting on lines 9191 and 9192. It doesn't trap out - just doesn't "take". "fChart" is a pointer to the open form that has the Chart object on it. -------------------------------------------------------------- Dim myChart As Graph.Chart 9110 Set myChart = fChart!gphStats.Object.Application.Chart 9111 With myChart

I am having a issue when I try to programmatically apply the X axis to my chart as I am trying to chart against a double number (ie: 45.89) should be part of the X axis, I keep getting an error that I can not use a decimal, is there a way I can force it in? I put labels under the chart but sometimes depending on the source data the chart expands and the values no longer lines up, thanks!

I manage a small organisation of around 100 employees, with different specialisations. It becomes difficult to check how many persons of each specialisation are available at any time, based on their vacation period. So I have made a ms-acces database as follows - A table EMPL with details of employees. A table SPEC with the various specialisations. The EMPL table has a specialisation field linked to the SPEC table. Finally a VACATION...

Has anybody got any samples of programming a chart. I am trying to use a query to create an XY scatter graph and need to add labels (Names and boats) to the points on the graph. Rob Bovey does it in Excel, and I am having some success using Access, but it is tough going. Too much trial, and definitely too much error. I wonder if anyone has any samples Thanks Phil

I am using a scatter chart on a form to show a map and points of interest that I want labelled. After a struggle I have loaded the map, loaded the point and from a recordset, copied and pasted the label information into column 3 of the chart's Datasheet. Set DtaSheet = Cht.Application.DataSheet For Each ChtLabel In ChtLabels ChtLabel.Caption = DtaSheet.Cells(lCount + 2, 3)

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
