HI All,
I m trying to write an SQL query in VBA to a sql string. It will be used for a search form. I want the query to evaluate multiple text boxes filled in by the user. For example, they are fields like street name, street type, house number.
If the user inputs say Street name and Street type , 'abc st', the query should evaluate both the fields entered by the user and search for it and provide results which correspond to the entered fields , eg: should return the output as 'abc st', but i ve the written the query which would give me all the occurences for abc and the st and not the combination of it.
Following is my query:
strSQL = "SELECT E.* " & _
"FROM E " & _
"WHERE E.M='" & Me.txtmirn.Valu e & "' " & _
"OR E.Site='" & Me.txtcity.Valu e & "' " & _
"OR E.Ga='" & Me.txtgas.Value & "' " & _
"OR E.Site='" & Me.txtdpi.Value & "' " & _
"ORDER BY E.M;"
I would appreciate if anyone can tell mewhere i m going wrong?
Cheers

Wotcha Aj, its cos u got OR in there instead of AND.
Try changing it to that and see what happens
strSQL = "SELECT E.* FROM E WHERE E.M='" & nz(Me.txtmirn,' *') & "' And" & _
" E.Site='" & nz(Me.txtcity,' *') & "' And E.Ga='" & nz(Me.txtgas,'* ') & "' And" & _
" E.Site='" & nz(Me.txtdpi,'* ') & "' ORDER BY E.M;"

The table already has a fulltext index and from there I can use the
MySQL fulltext search query to get results as well as the relevancy
score.
The problem I have is that MySQL has a default setting whereby the
minimum amount of characters is 4 for a search. Being that we're
government and full of TLA (three-letter acronyms), that is not
practical, and furthermore, the app I'm building must be fully
portable, so having MySQL tweaked...

Trying to use the 'search' in the docs section of PostgreSQL.org

expect a much faster performance.
I submitted my search over two minutes ago. I just finished this

Hello,
I am trying to build a search form with several different options to choose from. Currently it is set up to open within the same window if a single option is selected and open within a frameset if the "ALL" option is selected.
Is there anyway to get the results to open in new windows?
So if the user were to select the "ALL" option, is it possible to open 3 new windows with each result displaying?
Here is my code:

Hi Everyone,
I'm currently trying to follow an example I found in a book a while ago to try to create a spotlight (mac-like) search that filters results as one types. The script that I have works perfectly in Firefox, but does not seem to work successfully in Internet Explorer (I'm using version 7).
Here is the Javascript code I am currently using:
window.onload = initAll;
var xhr = false;
var statesArray = new Array();

Hi,
I have a task at hand to reduce the time taken for search query to
execute. The query fetches records which will have to sorted by
degrees away from the logged in user. I have a function which
calculates the degrees, but using this in the search query slows the
execution and takes about 10 secs to complete which is unacceptable.
Please advice. Your help is much appreciated

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
