Have many of you upgraded to VS 2003?
We have been using Visual Studio 2002, and are somewhat satisfied, except
for the following areas:
Speed - VS2002 apps are dead dog slow to start up, and slow the first time a
form loads. Has this been addressed? We have been all through the "fixes"
that supposedly speed up things in 2002, but they do not work, and are
hoping 2003 is better.

Hello,
I am in the process to define if our product can use PostgreSQL.
Do you know what type of application use PostgreSQL, and also what is the
size of the database for these projects?
Our application has a table with more than 300000 rows. There are complexe
query with many joins. And we must respect some time constraints. Also the
application is running 24 hours per day, so the product must be stable, with

The keyboard type ahead buffer does not seem to work in Access 2003 in
certain situations. We would like some help with this.
Here are the details.
We have a large program that was developed in Access 2000. We are now
converting it to Access 2003.
The program has a form for entering orders. Each order usually consists

Hello,
There are often questions in this newsgroup posted by VS.NET 2002 users.
VS.NET 2002 is "out of date", its successor is VS.NET 2003.
There is a special ("cheap") upgrade offer available for $29 US. This offer
is open only until September 30, 2003. You will get more information about
this offer here:

We are running an Access 2000 MDB with a SQL 7 back end. Our network guy is
upgrading to Windows Server 2003 and wants to upgrade Office and SQL Server
at the same time. We're moving to SQL Server 2005, and, since he already has
licenses for Office Pro 2002, he wants to upgrade to that.
I've been saying that we need to upgrade to Access 2003, not 2002, even if
Office is kept at 2002. We are also looking to do a fair amount of...

I do programming in Access 2000 and 2003. I don't have a copy of 2003
myself, though.
I have read about the adp software that comes with Access 2003, that
converts an application to an access front end with a SQL server
backend. It sounds like a good way for me to begin to learn about SQL
server.
I have thought about just shelling out the bucks for a copy of Access
2003, but the adp software is really the only reason. Do the folks

I have an A2K database that has links to 3 of my other databases

pretty simple.
Recently when we make a new .mde for the "main" database, the first
time we run our reports (all executed from code from a form), we get a

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
