A97 works fine on Vista.

If you are trying to use multiple versions of Access on Vista, see:

If you develop for others, you probably have multiple versions of Access installed so you can edit and create MDEs for clients in different versions. This works fine under Windows XP, even with Access 2007 installed. It does *not* work under Windows Vista Ultimate. After running Access 2007, when you open an earlier version of Access, no...

Is it possible to run Access 97 on Windows Vista? I have installed Access 97 and Access 2000, when I run Access 2000, then try to open Access 97 it says it cant find the windows registry entries? Re-Installing Access 97 seems to fix it until I open Access 2000 again. I have run both Access 97 and Access 2000 on all previous versions of...

Has anyone noticed that Access databases (2003) are much slower to load under Vista or is it just me? I have a dual boot machine (XP and Vista). Applications generally are a bit slower to load under Vista, Access included, and an Access DB of say 5mb size takes several seconds to load out of memory under Vista and is instantaneous under XP....

Hello - This is my first posting to this group, so please bear with me. Also note, that while I'm intelligent, databases are not in my field of knowledge. I'm working with a small limousine company. They presently have about 4 networked computers, all running Windows XP (w/SP2) and Microsoft Office 2000 (specifically Access 2000) - and a...

Hi all, So I bought a new laptop 10 days ago to test my apps with Vista. (home premium) Apparently Office 2007 is pre-installed. (a time limited but complete test version, no SP1) So I take the opportunity to test some new features of Access2007 before actually 'stepping over'. First thing that troubles me of course is 'the ribbon', but my...

I'm in the progress of upgrading from Access 97 to Access 2003. I've read about some of the bugs introduced by Office Service Pack 3: http://allenbrowne.com/bug-Access2003SP3.html I've also seen the KB945674 hotfix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945674 Does SP3 cause more problems than it solves? Would I be better off installing SP2...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
