Access in Japan, China, Korea and Australia

1 New Member
Hi,

I am wanting to develop a database in Australia and also have copies of the database used in other offices. (Japan, China, Korea and Australia)

If i develop the database in English in Australia, will it be able to be run on computers in the other countries.

Changing the labels is fine, my concern is the coding.

Please help!

Thanks

The coding should work abroad fine.
Developing it abroad may be complicated, but exporting it should be fine.
I admit I haven't actual experience of this, but I'm pretty confident nevertheless.

The only problem that may arise is with the libraries. If the .dll libraries in the other countries are not written in English this may cause some errors. I'm afraid you will have to test it to find out. I would advise putting a simple database together and sending it out for testing.

Access 97 here. I want a simple way to "lock" certain records on a form. Some records remain "live" until all data is available which happens over time. When all the fields are complete, I want the record to be able to be "locked", or intentionally unlocked. I thought of having a check box called "chkedit" that can be clicked when the data entry for the record is complete. I have the following code in the OnCurrent event for the...

SQL Server will be used as the back-end database to a non trivial client application. In question is the choice of client application: I need to be able to speak intelligently about when one client (MS Access vs ..NET Windows Forms) would be preferred over the other. While I have some good arguments on both sides, I would appreciate your points of view on the topic.

Hi, I have been reading the article at http://www.crockford.com/javascript/private.html and I was wondering if there also was some way to be able to have private methods that can be called from public methods, but not from outside. Just throwing an exception if a private method was called from outside would be sufficient, but I don't know how to determine if the method was called from outside. Anyone else thought about doing this?

I have recently installed Office 2007 (SP1) retaining the previous installation of Office 2003. I have converted an Access 2003 database to Access 2007. The database contains the VBA code 'DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdLinkTables' to initiate the dialog box to rebuild links to tables held in a back-end Access database (which has also been converted from Access 2003 to Access 2007). The code runs without problem in the original Access 2003...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
