At what point does one need to use another DB software. I noticed access has a 255 field limitation in its tables and queries. Is this something you find in most Db software?
I new to this access stuff but I've had some training in writing VB, C+, Java, perl, and using windows applications. I'm going to school for a bachelors in Information Systems Security so this isn't exactly my cup of tea. I like Linux/Unix sql much better than Microsoft stuff. It may be hard to set up but once it works, its a beautiful thing.

I know there can be reasons why large tables and queries are required but as a rule they should be avoided regardless of what system you are coding in.
