MS Access 2000 grey screen

1 New Member
Application does open, to a grey screen, but not access to database. 5mb of data exists, Explorer tells me so.

I encountered a similar problem at work with Excel not so long ago, which was resolved by resizing the spreadsheet, Excel had minimized the spreadsheet. I think this is the same problem in Access, I just don't know where to go to adjust the minimize/maximize in Access.

You possibly have one of a number of issues.
1. Have you actually opened a database?
Try File / Open to see if this resolves the issue.
2. Is the database window minimised?
Try Alt-- (Alt & Minus) followed by x to maximise the current window within the application.
3. Is the database window hidden?
Try F11 to show it. This will only work if this key has not been disabled for this database.

Hi, One of my clients has the following situation. They use Access DB for data update etc. some business functions while they also want to view the Access data quickly and more efficiently in SQL Server 2000. Huge Access db with over 100 user tables, over 60 MB data. The DTS package that comes with SQL Server 2000 seems pretty "messy" in the sense that it assumes that one needs to do one time import only or accurately it does not...

Hello, This is a repost (see under the "dotted" line) from 2 days ago. Hope someone could help. Norton Antivirus 2003 is installed on this computer. Could it cause a problem? Another interesting thing is when I open a email with the DB attached (on the ME computer), the file is not "enabled" in the file list, it's grey. First time I see this.

Hi Folks, Just wondering if there is any real need to convert an application from 2000 or XP to 2003, if the application is not going to grow or change. Ive had a couple people ask about it (converting to 2003) but I can't see a reason they should other than their IT manager want's to buy new stuff. Any help or opinion would be great Thanks!

Hi All, I have a report in Microsoft Access 2000 that appears with standard blank font in a print preview and shaded grey font in a printout. I don't want it to be shaded and can't figure out how it got that way. This report is based on a simple query of the database. It is in landscape mode, but there's a lot of data and I have the margins set to 0.2" on the left and right. It's only a page long. The labels and text boxes on the...

Hello We have a shortcut for our MS ACCESS application that uses a /Runtime switch because we may have some users that use Runtime. The application worked fine in Access 2000 and was tested with 2003 in the spring. Now that we started to use it with MS ACCESS 2003 (Full version) we are getting the error on the last form close when exiting the application. We don't have this error if deleting /Runtime switch from the shortcut.. The error...

I have an ASP.Net website that was developed using SQL Server 2000. I want to 'port' it to use SQL Server Express, since I don't have SQL Server 2000 (besides my db is less than 1GB). Questions: 1). What is the difference between SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server Express? 2). What changes (if any) do I have to make to make the website work with SQL Server express ?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
