The sample imaging databases at http://accdevel.tripod.com illustrate three
approaches to handling images in Access, and the download includes an
article discussing considerations in choosing an approach. Two of the
approaches do not use OLE Objects and, thus, avoid the database bloat, and
some other problems, associated with images in OLE Objects.

{Note: in Forms, some example code is in the OnCurrent event; to do
the same thing in Reports, put that code in the OnPrint event.}

If you are printing the images in reports, to avoid memory leakage, you
should also see MVP Stephen Lebans' http://www.lebans.com/printfailures.htm.
PrintFailure.zi p is an Access97 MDB containing a report that fails during
the Access formatting process prior to being spooled to the Printer Driver.
This MDB also contains code showing how to convert the contents of the Image
control to a Bitmap file prior to printing. This helps alleviate the "Out of
Memory" error that can popup when printing image intensive reports.

Hey all, I'm currently redesigning a website that a friend and I started about a year ago. It is a daily surf report so when choosing the best script/language to use for the new design, I found that a mixture of PHP and MySQL would be a good idea. I have currently set up OmniHTTPd and installed MySQL and PHP onto my homeserver. I want the site to be set up as follows: 1- I add the report, date and pictures (and amount of pictures...

Access 2000 I am trying to print a report that only some of the records have pictures. When the report prints, I do not want a blank image control showing on the report. This project is a test bank of questions allowing the user to create an exam by choosing the questions. Some of the questions have pictures for reference and some don't. I have chosen to keep the images in another folder with a test field (QPic) that contains the...

Is there any reason why embedded pictures won't print from reports? They show up perfectly fine in Preview mode .. but when I print, they come out missing .. Including Black filled "Rectangle" objects .. just missing, and of course the white text that was on top of them is missing also, because it no longer has its backgrounds .. I've got a DB that i've used on a number of PCs at work, that prints the images fine, but when i bring it to...

Hello, This is the first time I use a database program. I am trying to build a product database. Each product will have an ID number, a description, and a photograph. I need the table to display the photographs of the items, so that I can visually spot the item that I am looking for. Please let me know if it is possible to have pictures in the tables, and if not, what should I do? Maybe Access is the wrong tool for this task. Maybe...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
