I have a table containing different field types including a
memo field. If I do a select distinct on the table the memo
field is truncated to 256 characters. I've never encountered
this before, is it a known issue?
Thanks.
Keith.
Yes. Access 97 and earlier refused to do select distinct, giving a
warning. It was then possible to edit the query to do a left
(memofield,255) if you needed to include the field in the query.
Since Access 2000, the rules were changed, and Access now simply
truncates the field(s) to 255 characters. Stupid, stupid.
