how to get the contents of a control on a filtered form?

1 New Member
I have a form that displays the contents of a table. I want to be able to apply filters though the form and then base an insert query on the filtered data to create a new row to match each row in the filtered data.
Is there a way to get the filtered data from the Id field / control from this form?

Thanks

If you want to get the filtered data you can do it using code...

Like this one...

Dim myr as recordset

Set myr=Forms!Myfor m.recordset.clo ne

Myr.movefirst
-----
seeking the filtered records in your form and treat them
-----
myr.movenext
Myr.close

I have a Control derived class. When the parent of the control changes the control's Location property, the stack overflows. I have not found a way to find out what was on the stack when it does overflow. All I know is that the program is either stopped due to an exception at the end of Main or has exited after the Stack Overflow exception. (Both cases are Debug builds running in the debugger.) After a lot of trial and error (mostly...

I have a form that has a command button on it to open a report. The report is based on the forms data, if it's filtered the report is filtered, if the form is showing 100 records the report is showing the same 100 records, etc. I want to create another command button which exports to excel, in the same manner above. Whether the form is filtered or not, the same records should be exported. I played around with TransferSpreadsheet but I...

Hi all following scenario: i have a usercontrol with a search-textbox who opens a datagrid to show filtered records. unfortunatly this datagrid is limited to the boundaries of the usercontrol wich limits the height to some 4 records. (i know i could use a normal dropdowncontrol, but this is not good enough for some reasons). right now i've solved it by opening a new borderless form wich is aligned to the search-textbox. needless to say,...

Hello: I have something I would like to do and I was wondering if tab controls was the best route to accomplish it. I have 5 categories of material types. I created the application from an excel sheet that had the categories listed. My boss would like my form to be as close as possible to the excel sheet. He would like for each material to be input by material type separately, which is currently not how I have it set up. currently, you...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
