Want to turning hourglass using VBA in Access 2000?

awu
All:
I have posted this question back to March this year. I would like to
get a VBA example code. Here is my question:

I want to turn my hourglass around to indicate my program is still
running. I am using VBA with Excel and MS Access 2000.

So far I use DoCmd.Hourglass true and false to turn on/off hour glass.
Thank you in advance

Hi, Arno:

There is no code involved, just an animated cursor in al your apps instead of your 'normal' hourglass.
It's a windows feature or property if you like. No code.
As I said Google for "animated cursor" and install one of the animated cursors you will find.

I will try to help but it has NOTHING to do with Access...
==I don't load ani-files in Access. I load ani-files in Windows.
As I said: It's a Windows feature or property if you like.

You will only need to change your mouse-settings.
==Start-Configuration-Printers and other hardware-Mouse (Translated from Dutch, hope this is right ...)
Look at all the different cursors here and choose (or download) an animated one instead of the standard hourglass.
That's all.

It *might* be possible to load ani's *only* for Access, but I like the ani's in other apps too.

Hey all, This is a nitpick that I'd like to fix if possible... I have a form that submits to a page that does some intense DB queries, so the page takes about 30-45 seconds to load. Using Win2K, IE6, when the submit button is clicked, it looks like nothing is happening (unless you read the status bar and see the page opening text). Yet Netscape shows a little hourglass, indicating that processing is occurring. Is there a simple way to...

I am having the strangest problem. I use the Date function in several of my forms and modules in an Access 2000 mdb. Lately, wherever in my code (in this one mdb) I use the Date function, it changes to date (lower case vs proper case). I can fix this very temporarily by reconstructing the database (importing all objects to a new mdb) or using the decomplie option to open it. But in either case, once I compile it reverts back to lower case....

Hello, I am working on a project for my work and I would like to lock it up a little so that the code is inaccessible. I was going to turn it into an MDE file but for some reason that option is greyed out. Have I done something wrong? Basically this database is pulling information from another raw data database for historical and reporting purposes.

One of the more challenging things on my app's wishlist is to make it multi-user on a LAN. For the record my app was always intended to a single-user but things have changed. It's mostly composed of bound forms handling records numbered in the hundreds, sometimes a few thousand. The code of course refers to tables in the local mdb. I allow the user to create external backups of the tables in the database and to restore them. Because...

I have a procedure that takes certain time to finish. It is triggered by pushing botton, but a user can't see whether the procedure started or not, because Access starts showing hourglass cca 20 seconds after the button was pushed. I would like to add some hourglass or a message that would be present on the screen while procedure is runing. How to accomplish it ? Thanks.

Hello All, First of all I would like to say thank you for all of the help I have received here. I have been teaching myself Access for about 4 years now and I've always been able to find a solution here - until now. This one is driving me crazy. I am making my first attempt at creating a runtime application. I am using Access 2003 Developer Extensions. Initially I developed the database without planning on creating a runtime app...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
